overall its an average resort not value for money. AC was not workin properly in our room, v wer sweatin even in AC is on in d room, v used both AC & FAN to withstand d climate, management is not gud. in resort der is a bridge to walk, & d bridge barricades r broken n my 2year kid was almost to fall from d bridge.. its not kid friendly, d resteaurant interior surrounded wit glass is not cleanly maintained ........

What is good - the place itself and the staff. The staff were extra polite and did their best to accommodate every request. The food is just average. Of course the room service is fast but don't expect a lot from the food itself. The place does not have a liquor license. The resort was running on really low occupancy. Day 1, we had just two more guests - the result - so many menu items went off the list. Day 2 - another couple got added. So basically they had no buffet spread - a la carte all the time. The pool - there are a whole set of pool rules , but no pool side services are available for the "civilized" guests. However an unruly mob (100 of them) can jump into the pool in whatever dress they choose to wear and smoke and drink by the pool. If the resort is serious about guest experience they should contain the crowd and define some protocol for such day guests. They can't be allowed to stray all over the property. It felt unsafe and uncomfortable. There is a canal which runs through the resort and it has black water and this is a breading ground for mosquitoes. The place also has pigeon menace and no effort has been made to contain it. The room too is just average with a miniature TV, limited channels, a non functional fridge. But one thing was commendable, free WiFi through the entire stay.

This is an excellent place in beautiful surroundings in Kerela Back Waters. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to reach from Chekalai station.

Everything was very good. Environment, Rooms, Privacy, Service, and all others were very nice !!! Good place to enjoy a weekend. Great value for money

Some of the staff was rude in talking { May be the Manager - Male ). Not giving enough information to the client. Bad management. Need to give training to the staff, as how to behave with the customer. I think that could be one reason that the hotel is not doing well. It was half empty on the day of our arrival and full empty on the day of our departure. It is a very nice property.

We had a very pleasant stay at the World Backwaters in January. The hotel is really beautifully situated in a calm environment. Hotel staff is very helpful and so nice, and the food was delicious. Though the hotel is in a remote place, we'd love to come back sometime. It's also worth the effort going away from the hotel and enjoy the local sightseeings, the people we met there were so good to us. Only negative things with the World Backwaters were some small technical problems in the room which the staff fixed quite quickly. We'd really appreciated more written info on the room or at the reception as well, since we didn't always get the Kerala English accent. We lacked info on the restaurant's hours, room service menu and spa activities as well as some info on the region and local sightseeing tips.

It was our first time in Kerela and we cannot recommend it enough. The Backwaters was booked at the last minute once we had arrived in India and the whole experience of booking online was trouble free. The Backwaters resort is a very peaceful place. The staff are friendly and eager to ensure your needs are met. The food was wonderful though please note the resort is a 'dry' place so bring your own tipple! We had Ayurvedic treatments and the staff who run the center are great. We had very relaxing massages & learnt yoga which we are still practicing. We also went on a 3 hour boat ride in the backwaters which was made even more memorable by the boatman taking us to his home when we enquired about buying some green coconuts! This place is ideal if you want to spend a few days lounging by the pool & relaxing reading, watching the lake & its wildlife and the sunset.

This is a small-ish resort in a secluded location bordering on a picturesque lake. You can watch fishermen at work and houseboats go past from the pool area. The resort is perfect for a romantic break or quiet family holiday. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Boat trips are available directly from the resort. We stayed in a "Lakeside Stream Villa" which was clean and had all mod cons and a great view of the lake. The food and service were good, but the resort did not have a full alcohol license as at early January 2012 and served only beer at the time. The breakfast buffet was excellent. A mosque and temple are nearby; both can be heard at times but neither are overly intrusive. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

C'est un merveilleux lieu pour se reposer après l'agitation des villes indiennes. Le confort et la nourriture sont parfaits. Seul bémol, le service est impersonnel. Pour le Kérala, c'est assez étonnant. C'est comme si il n'y avait pas de vie dans cet hôtel et les services annoncés sur le web ne sont pas réellement présents, pas de spa, pas de boutique ni de café ouverts. Juste parfait pour faire rien et profiter de la piscine merveilleuse. De plus, il n'y a rien à faire aux allentours.
