Hotel Posada De Roger - Near Los Muertos Beach

I love Hotel Posada de Roger. Of every place I visited in Puerto Vallarta (Romantic Zone), it felt the most authentically Mexican. It exudes culture & character. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There's a rustic feel to many of the rooms. It's in the absolute best location, with so much within walking distance & right around the corner. The rates are very reasonable. A real gem and an important part of the history of the Romantic Zone.

We stayed at the Hotel Posada De Roger from Feb 19-26. It is an older hotel, but it is kept up so nicely and just beautiful with all the flowers around the grounds. We happen to be in PV when we had to shelter in place for almost 2 days. The staff and manager (Dario) kept everyone safe and informed on what was happening in our surrounding area. The housekeeping staff even made us dinner one night, and the next day they made everyone lunch. We felt like we were all family, and never felt unsafe at all. A special thanks to Dario, Susie, Debra, Bety, and (2) Martha's who cooked and took care of everyone at this hotel at a stressful time. We will be back next year to see you all.

No fridge in room

The hotel is clean and cozy. Well staffed. We were there during the cartel trouble on February 2026 and the staff went out of their way working around the clock to ensure we were comfortable and safe. The housekeepers were attentive and thorough.

What a charming boutique hotel, right in the heart of La Zona Romántica! The atrium is a lovely, shady spot to get a break from the hustle bustle of the street. They have a lovely pool on the 3rd floor, where you can enjoy the beautiful murals throughout the building. We were staying there during the recent cartel chaos (Feb 2026) and the staff did everything they could to make the guests feel safe and cared for. As all restaurants and groceries stores were closed, the remaining staff whipped up a simple dinner and breakfast for everyone! Amazing considering they were trying to make sure their own family were safe and secure at home. Once things settle back to normal, please visit this charming spot in the heart of historic PV!

Perfect location in Zona Romantica. Steps away from everything. Lushly landscaped central courtyard creates a nice private atmosphere. The room was nice and clean, but minimal (bed, tiny closet, 3/4 bath, dresser and bed-tables). There was no desk or kitchen in the room, but there was a communal space with some amenities. In-room refrigerator was available for 30 pesos (daily). The internet speed was just fine - even for streaming Netflix / Facebook / Insta on devices. (I could not get Screen-Mirroring or the Netflix to work using the remote, but I didn't really try very hard -- or ask). Free safe available in their vault (300 peso REFUNDABLE key deposit). Front desk staff were friendly and (mostly) bilingual. They seemed glad you were a guest in their hotel. No elevator. TV channels in English were limited. If you are a budget traveler this hotel is a perfect value: clean, safe hotel; very quiet at night. I would book here again. Not suitable for: Individuals requiring an elevator, a "view" / balcony, or an expansive television channel variety.
