Hotel & Spa Larimar

Overall: very relaxing, hotel area clean, friendly staff, good food. Can recommend for a stay. Very attentive staff, very good massages/treatments. Cannot comment on saunas. Thermal water area is not very big and can get a touch crowded when busy (note that this is the same in the vast majority of natural spring thermal resorts however!), the sport swimming pool is huge, and phantastic! Restaurant food solid, only niggle was that the sald choice a touch weak and at a bit repetitive, but minor niggle. Lots of areas to sit down in the hotel. Would not hesitate to visit again for a relaxing stay without being in an overly stuffy hotel.

Perfect hotel, nice location, excellent indoor and outdoor pools, Gault Millau rated restaurant… still the overall experience was spoiled almost immediately upon our arrival. We couldn’t open our room door, so the staff lead personally by the owner of the hotel changed first the batteries. At our next attempt we could not open the door again. A bit tired and nervous I went to the reception desk, but they did not look very helpful. Anyway, the lock was repaired again, but no use, we could not enter again. Most of our time we spent on the corridor connecting the room and the reception. Finally, they offered to change to card lock to a classical key lock. This time we could enter to our room whenever it was needed. Until next morning. Someone knocked on our door early morning, introducing himself as maintenance, saying he will replace the whole lock system with a new one. He did, but we couldn’t enter to our room again. After several attempts, spending most of our time again on the corridor between our room and the reception, I asked to replace the electronic lock with the classic type key lock. The staff was not friendly any longer. I asked why didn’t the contact us prior repair attempts on our second day of visit, but never got a reply. This was the birthday of my wife. Earlier, the night before I noticed that persons celebrating their birthday at Larimar are getting a nice surprise. I asked the head of the restaurant on duty if they can prepare a surprise for my wife. Sure, he said, that’s usually a small cake for two with two glasses of champagne. My request was obviously noted, because the day after our table in the restaurant was decorated, and there was a humiliating present, a cheque worth 20 euros, but no cake, no champagne. When I asked this time the other head of the restaurant on duty what happened, and where is the ordered surprise, he disappeared and never got back. We arrived to a three day visit in the afternoon. The booked and paid service was full board, lunch and afternoon desert included, but we had to start with a dinner. You’ll get a lunch package on your departure, we’ve been told. Left the hotel before noon, but we never got our last meals. It’s a pity, because the place is lovely. But the human part of the service was simply horrible. Very unusual for the country.

This hotel is a four-star resort only in name, it does not live up to the rating. While the location is nice and the people are generally friendly, the hotel lacks several things: staff, well trained or empowered staff; badly needed renovations of the property and the rooms; general grooming of the landscaping around the hotel. Answer to every question and every guest request is normally, ‘ we’re not sure if this could be done’ and it needs to be coordinated and aligned with one of the 2 owners. And if the owners are not available (on the phone, sleeping), you don’t get an answer at all. Staff seems to be untrained, inexperienced, lacking in customer service. If you plan on using the Internet while at the hotel, forget about doing it between 11 PM and 6 AM - THEY TURN THE WI-FI OFF! Never heard this happening at any hotel in any country until we landed at this one. We had to cut our stay short and leave the hotel after one night because we needed access to the Internet around the clock due to work reasons. Found a much better place around the corner, where we happily spent the rest of our vacation.

My wife and I spent a weekend here just last week, and we were extremely satisfied with the overall experience! As a spa, the pools are clean and extremely soothing, even in summer. The newer infinity pool is lovely, as are the heated pools. The sauna area offered something that I'm certain the odd sauna enthusiast will appreciate: an "open hour" policy, meaning that from 10-11am, people who don't care to completely disrobe in order to experience the wonderful sauna and salt-water pool options can do just that. It's not a whole lot of time, but I have yet to come across another spa that offers this. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, most of, if not all of which have bathtubs as well as standalone showers, and balconies. The mattresses are very comfortable, though if you (like me and my wife) prefer pillows that offer a bit more support, I would suggest bringing your pillow from home. The Larimar pillows will not do the trick. The hotel/spa is an all-inclusive resort, so while not all of the food was outstanding, several of the dishes were genuinely fantastic. The spa also clearly benefits from being situated in the heart of Styria, a generally well-renowned wine province of Austria. We experienced a weekend of pure relaxation and delight here at the Larimar spa, so I can strongly recommend a stay!

We, together a family of four, has started visiting this outstanding wellness hotel for the last two years now. Defefintely 5 star services. Family trooms are unique, and very comfortable. Simply we love it as it became our favourite hotel as a Healthy Oase.

Just had a short stay, but we were deeply impressed by the variety of services offered: vast wellness area (indoor and outdoor), medical services and treatments. Excellent cuisine catering for a wide range of tastes.

Just left Hotel Larimar after 3 nights of glorious relaxation in the Austrian countryside. From the moment we walked in and were welcomed by Daniela and Hans we entered into a blissful state of peace and calm. The hotel is well laid out with access to both the thermal pool and the spa area from many sides. Although the hotel was full on the holiday weekend we never felt as if it was in any way crowded. There is a mix of guests - some who are there for two weeks spa cure, others for just a few days and all seem to be enjoying all the options available. There are always treatments available, quiet rooms to relax in or beds in the garden where one could find peace and tranquility. The food was very good and always fresh. We had the full board package - breakfast and lunch were buffet style and the evening meal was a more formal served affair. Food was plentiful and always featured healthy and bio options. Apart from the spa activities there are other things to do in the area - golfing and cycling and just enjoying the Austrian countryside. Once again, thanks for the super hospitality and we are already counting the days when we can be back.

Der Hoteleigene SPA Bereich ist so riesig, das wir gar nicht in der öffentlichen Therme in Stegersbach waren. Perfektes Essen, das zum Glück Großteils serviert wird und man sich daher nicht um ein Buffet drängen muss, machen den Aufenthalt so richtig erholsam. Am Abend die Livemusik zu der wir tanzten rundeten den Kurzurlaub ab!

Der Aufenthalt im Hotel war sehr schön. Man kommt völlig entspannt zurück nach Hause.
