The County Lodge

No staff on-site, looking and feeling very rundown, Mattress worn out, shower not very warm, some rooms would not lock!

None of it is in a extremely bad condition

The hotel is in need of a major refit taps broken shower not working properly door won't lock properly

The room was very large and the bed was comfortable. The linen and towels were spotless and overall the room was very comfortable

There were no bulbs in the bedside table lights which was a nuisance if you wanted to read in bed. Also the place itself was closed and looked abandoned although the rooms were behind the building off the car park

Nothing about the stay was good

No staff on site at all locks broken on room door not secure, the bed was so old the mattress was uncomfortable and had a dell in the middle that was difficult to get out of

Although the bar and restaurant are currently closed the property does have a stand alone building containing the rooms. A big car park with an underground area which is great for motorcycles. Check in is ok although done over the telephone do get the keys from a lockbox. Big enough rooms, enough hot water, heating that works if you turn the radiators on and surprisingly quiet. Food available in another hotel down the road. Ok for a one night stopover.

Getting towards the end of its life now. Door lock’s flimsy with some not locking properly, light fittings worn and a bit dodgy with cheap light bulbs. Mattress old and soft and seen some action.

It was a great location, really close to a grocery store

It was a bit too dark in our room

Spacious well appointed room

Bed uncomfortable.
