Petani Bay Hotel - Adults Only

We had an amazing experience at Petani bay. From management to every single employee everyone tried to make our stay there as best as it could be. Location: The hotel does not have restaurants at a walking distance, but by car you can be at the beach in 7min or so, where you can find two great options. The view is spectacular for Petani beach. We were during cloudy days but it has a great sunset. The pool are is great, you can enjoy and have a lot of fun there. Food: The breakfast was great, several options. We had a hard time trying to decide what to eat, and everything we tried was delicious. Concierge: Our host was very lovely, providing all the information we need to plan a daytrip through the island. She was constantly making sure we are having a great time. Accommodation: Room was comfortable, clean, good space. It had even Netflix, but with that amazing sea we didn't used the tv. :) Would definitely come back again when visiting Kefalonia.

The hotel was fantastic. We wanted a luxury quiet get away and that is what we got. We really liked having the kitchenette as was so convenient. The breakfast was great. Our main attraction to the hotel was the swimming pool and view over the bay. Fantastic!! We only wish there were more eating out options within walking distance.

Our room was amazing and the owners were generous enough to upgrade our room as we were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. The hotel was beautiful with magical views and definitely a superb choice for couples wanting a getaway from a busy lifestyle. The owners were very helpful and offered some fantastic places to dine in at Lixouri town or the local beach. A wide variety of food was available at breakfast and brunch was again very tasty. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back to this quaint heaven on Earth. Once again thank you so much for making our stay memorable. Raj and Harj Ubhi

This would have been 4 or even 5 out of stars... but we booked a Junior Suite (40 sq metres, living area etc). Upon arrival, we were told we were being given an upgrade because we had requested a double bed. The "upgrade" turned out to be a big downgrade (normal room, 22 sq metres). Room 206 - very small room. When we asked for our original room, we were told it was not available. We realise that mistakes happen and for whatever reason our room was allocated to another couple. We would have appreciated some honesty, rather than trying to fool us. This is a shame, because this actually a great hotel otherwise. We managed to glimpse the Suite we booked and it was a great-looking room. Avoid rooms 106 and 206 (they are both the same size). The pool area is excellent, breakfast was great, the staff - with the notable exception of the person who checked us in - were extremely friendly and nice to deal with. It's also a great location, if you don't mind the remoteness. You need a car (or taxi) to go anywhere. So it is difficult to recommend this hotel, based on the experience we had. But we also understand that ours was quite an isolated experience, and all the other guests - especially the couple who got our room, who we met with and were very nice people - were happy. Next time, we suggest you are honest with your customers, if a similar mistake happens.

Big clean rooms, with big bed. Fanatastic view. Only thing it needed was a bigger dinner menu.

Off the beaten tourist track, a small high quality hotel with individual service, delivered personally by the owners and their team who are obviously passionate about their product. Everything we needed was there. Stunning location with amazing views of Petani Bay and the sunset wherever you are - from the rooms, pool, bar, terrace and restaurant.

We loved it all! Big comfortable suite with sea views. Great infinity pool with amazing view of the Bay beneath. Loads of places to lie or sit. Great beach and tavernas down the hill but need a car unless very fit!

Loved this place, couldn't recommend it enough. Accommodation is superb, and all the staff can not do enough for you. Always enough loungers round the pool and extra care has even been taken with the quality of these. Shouldn't really say this as it is a secret gem so don't want ord to get out but they do deserve it!!

This is a good hotel with a fantastic view, great staff, but expensive.

We had high hopes for this hotel. The location above the bay is breathtaking. It seemed like this property controls access to the entire bay and the beach. Unfortunately, this hotel is just build on the side of the mountain with a road passing in front of it. The rooms are slightly set back from the main building, but high enough to see the bay (although some are probably better than others). One should also be aware that this hotel is over an hour away from the airport - this is a big island. The biggest problem was the attitude of the staff, which did not make the guests feel welcome. Requests were an inconvenience and a little accommodation was a big deal. The rooms look much better in the pictures and while they are not bad, they are far from what I would call luxurious. I also didn't get the impression that they were as clean as they should be. In addition, I also would not describe the pool area as very clean either. Overall, this should have been every bit as amazing as it looks in the picture, but the letdown in the rooms and the poor service made this hotel a letdown. I cannot recommend it for the price.
