Overbooked, not professional

DO NOT STAY HERE my friend and I booked this before our cruise and almost left half way through the night due to how noisy it was. The person next to us is definitely living out of this place and it’s so dirty and unclean. The room we are in had a tv and WiFi that didn’t work - while they told us at check in and said it would be fixed within an hour it wasn’t. There is almost no parking. When we came back from dinner there were 3 sheriffs and an ambulance here. Dealing with an incident that happened down a few rooms from ours. Drug deals were happening last night, doors slamming, it was all very sketchy and we can hear everything because the walls are thin. The pictures do NOT match the current condition of the property.

Hotels.com should investigate this location. They apparently continually over book.

Do not book through Expedia. I booked a room about a week ahead of time only to be told upon my arrival that Expedia over booked. Cindi stated that she was the manager on duty and they could not give me a refund but Expedia would since the cancellation was not my fault. Spent 3x the amount on another room someplace else last minute. Contacted Expedia and after a week got a notification that they were not able to reach the hotel for me to get a refund. Very unhappy customer

We made a reservation with a King size bed. Upon check in, we were given a room with a Queen size bed. Front desk receptionist had no answer as to why and claimed there were no other rooms available. She said she would reach out to the manager. Every day we either stopped in for an update, or emailed the property requesting the same. For the entire duration, there was ZERO RESPONSE. The facility is run-down and needs significant updating. We can’t even say “you get what you pay for.” We DO NOT recommend!

This place is a total joke as is it's management. I got a call the day of my reservation which was booked over a month in advance from David Friedman saying that they had overbooked and I wouldn't have a room that night and it was now on me to deal with Expedia to figure out where I was going to stay instead and that it wasn't his problem. After talking with Expedia it was clear they had given him my booking info when I had reserved weeks before and he didn't have the wherewithal to do his due diligence to check what reservations he had coming in. It was sloppy, unprofessional and a huge pain in the neck that ended up taking nearly 2 hours to figure out in finding a new hotel room because of how busy the area was. He was rude and should get out of the hotel business if he can't do the simple task of figuring out what rooms were booked. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Drove 11 hours and at 12 in the morning we were told there were no rooms because they over booked. This is after contacting them twice on the way down and were told there was no problem running late. Half hour before we got there we contacted them again and was told room was ready.

We arrived at 630 pm yesterday and found out YOU overbooked! So we didn't have a room and we didn't get our money back! So please send this back to my card

I would like to preface this review by first saying the female manager that assisted us was friendly and respectful and this in no way impacts her. The property on the other hand not so much. I CANNOT give LESS than ONE star, though I would if I could The photos shown on Expedia, who we booked thru are EXTREMELY deceiving and not forthcoming. When we arrived in Sarasota 2/14/2025, we called the "hotel" to see if there was an early check in available. The remote operator for the "hotel", Dave, advised us that Expedia had OVERBOOKED the "hotel" and we did not have a room. We had just flown in for a wedding that weekend. After discussing with Expedia for over 45 minutes, we were told there was a room. We then had the driver take us to the "hotel". Upon arrival this place looked like it should have had crime scene tape around it. Piles of cigarette butts were strewn about, and even upon exiting the vehicle we encountered a pile. No representative was readily available, and after finally locating one, the woman who assisted brought us into the "office" which looked more like a dive lounge with guitars and amps about. She would then check the computer and verified that indeed Expedia had over booked and we did not have a room. She also stated that the Expedia website shows that we booked an executive suite, one of three. She further stated that there is only ONE in the "hotel" and it is booked thru the end of the month. This place was borderline section 8 housing/migrant shelter/or homeless facility. Again, the photos are almost a bait and switch showing nothing even close. It's on a seemingly desolate stretch of road with NOTHING in the immediate area. I would NEVER EVER use Expedia again, nor would I even venture to recommend this "hotel". The manager was nice, but that was the ONLY thing. Expedia screwed us, we ended finally finding a hotel for more money, Presidents weekend and all. Expedia did NOTHING for us, didn't offer to assist in finding other accommodations, and upon refunding money, didn't even compensate for THEIR MISTAKE...... Thankfully this trip did not involve the wives or kids, because if it did, it would have been worse. NEVER EVER AGAIN.
