Royalty Maples Motel & Cottages

The cottages are wonderful. Close to everything and great to relax and have take out food in and watch a movie. Or cook your own dinner and feel like you’re at home.

Outside door wouldn’t stay latched; had to keep the dead bolt locked to make sure it wouldn’t open.

The actual cottage was lovely. I had an issue with booking.

I was travelling and this was a last minute booking. The booking was accepted and I was checking in during the check in period but I had a VERY difficult time, getting the information on which cottage I was in and how to access the cottage when I arrived. There was no one at the actual property that I could speak with and the phone number listed only had a recording that was NOT helpful at all. The website was not helpful either. I contacted someone from their customer service number but since I had booked it through Booking.com the person would not even attempt to heIp me. They even hung up on me when I asked a question. I had to contact customer service at Booking.com to help me get in touch with someone from Royalty Maples Cottages so I could access the cottage. This took over 45 mins. to accomplish and I was driving while all this was taking place. When someone from Royalty maples finally contacted me they said "they hadn't seen the booking come in and they don't usually take late bookings"....If that is the case that should be stated on the website or on booking.com. They also sent me incorrect information when they did send through the details. They had me in two cottages when I had only booked one. So there was a lot of confusion and stress on my part that I would have nowhere to stay after a long journey. The code they gave didn't actually open the door, they had to open it remotely. When I got in the cottage the door didn't seem to close properly.

We love to stay here cause it’s so clean peaceful and cozy.

We loved the location and the look of the property. The cabin was very clean and the bathroom was wonderful. The beds were comfortable.

It was cold when we got in. The fireplace heater was showing an error code. It took a long time for the cabin to warm up. There was no tea or coffee provided like we have had at most hotels of the same price. The heat pump went through a defrost mode for awhile and not being familiar with heat pumps we freaked out at first but after googling it we waited for it to finish and then we did get heat. We needed to use the oven to heat until the heat pump started to heat the cabin up.

Close to the college where I needed to be.

Cold inside, parking lot was a skating rink.

It should say 24 hour notice for booking. We booked and as no one on site we had to make phone calls and emails to get access to our room. This wouldn’t be a problem if we had booked ahead of time
