Candlewood Suites Indianapolis East by IHG

It was close to a lot of business so it made it easier to find what we needed.

They only had one luggage cart and we waited and wait for someone to bring it back so we could use it the night we checked in and we never saw it so we had to make multiple trips to get everything to the room.

The people working there

This is not really a hotel. It is low income long term housing with a few rooms. They sold us a “king suite” room, but it was not a king sized bed and not a suite. They said they didn’t have those. I complained, but we needed the room. It was a smoking room and disgustingly dirty.

Reception was a bit slow and the excuse was "third party booking." This was literally the only thing she said to me. The Candlewood building is in a location near the freeway, which was nice for traveling, but noisy for the night. The room was good, clean enough for a short visit and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was filled nicely and had enough to service my food requirements. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. On the whole the building was quiet and provided me with a good night's rest.

On the surface, the room looked clean. If you paid a bit more closer attention, you noticed stains and dirt in small quantities in places you don't really expect them. I could clean it away, so I'm sure the staff could have done it too. Apart from that and the sound from the traffic (which can't be solved at all), the room at Candlewood was very nice.

Easy check in and helpful staff were appreciated. We traveled 8 hours from Michigan to Indianapolis, Indiana and checked in at this hotel past 230am to get some sleep before heading to Tennessee the next morning. It was very upsetting that our sleep was interrupted as soon as the sun rises due to the sunlight coming through the window, pointing directly on to our beds 😞. A curtain on the window that block the sun would have resolved the issue but they don't have it. We checked out around 10:45am, restless. $128/night not worth it.
