the room was very clean and comfortable. there should be more wastebaskets with liners. all else was great - quiet, soothing.

The bar was never open. Herd from others that they haven't seen anyone at the bar in weeks. The pool had an odd smell. Not to mention the lobby smelled like someone used 12 cans of cleaning spray that would run you out the building

I was honestly a little hesitant to book Aloft Chapel Hill after reading some of the recent reviews around cleanliness. As a Bonvoy elite member, I’ve been working through the current promotion to stay across different brands, so I decided to give it a shot. Going in, I had a pretty clear expectation of the Aloft experience, some past stays have been great, others not so much. For a one-night stay, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised…though that may also be because I was expecting the worst. The hotel is definitely showing its age. The lobby furniture and carpeting are noticeably worn, with visible stains, and the XYZ market was both understocked and not particularly clean. I checked in around 5pm and the bar was already closed, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the room itself was clean where it mattered most. While the walls could use a proper repaint (the touch-ups give it a bit of a patchy look), the bathroom, linens, and towels were all clean. The bed was comfortable, I slept well, and all of the in-room technology worked without issue. In the morning, breakfast options were very limited, but the complimentary coffee was appreciated. The staff was generally friendly throughout the stay. Overall, this was a decent one-night stay, especially given my expectations. Would I go out of my way to return? Probably not, unless they do a full renovation and I’ll likely stick with my usual spots in the area, but for the purpose of trying a different brand for double elite credits, it got the job done.

The room was a little small but cozy. The bed was average, not the most comfortable but comparable with other hotel rooms. There was nowhere to put my soap while taking a shower, I have sensitive skin, so I don't take chances, I bring my dove soap, I put a towel on the rail and put it on the towel. The TV was small, but it played well so you can't have it all. Would like to have a hanger for pants, I folded them over and hung them up.

There was a bar in the lobby and the bartender made an amazing martini. Very personable guy.

Air conditioner was so loud you could not sleep. No lids that fit the coffee cups, simple fix but no one carried. Very poor customer service. It you don't fix something as small as a coffee cup lid how can we trust you to care about anything else.
