Hotel Rural Almazara

Stopped for one night after seeing Tangier and Gibraltar. Room was nice, with patio and good view.

We enjoyed the Hotel but thought the Reception Staff, though very efficient, could be more welcoming. The View from our room was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable - but the pillows dreadful! If we go again we'll take our own! Breakfast was excellent. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay which we hope to repeat

A very good Hotel with good access, and very friendly staff. The Room we stayed in was excellent and very clean with very good views. The Bar and Food operations were excellent. A very Good Hotel and we would recommend it to our friends. Pam & Alastair Forbes

Lovely rustic hotel close to main road with a pool

We stayed at the Hotel Rural Almazara for 3 nights for a friends wedding which was taking place just up the road at Villa Roca Rara. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and polite. Location wise it's great if you like us you are attending an event at Roca Rara, however do be warned there is nothing else near the hotel. The nearest shop is a garage a good 5 minute walk away, after that its down to Nerja or up to Frigiliana, both of which are 5/10 mins in a car. Unless you like walking ( A LOT) or are happy to not move from the hotel you will need a hire car, or deep pockets to pay for taxi's (10 Euro's to Nerja, more like 20 to Frigilliana.That said the veiws form the hotel are spectacular, espexially at sunset. Breakfasts were the usual continental offerings of pastries, breads, cheese and cold meat, they were fine. We ate in the hotel restraunt on our first night, we felt the food was of average quality but that the prices were quite expensive.

We found this hotel to be quiet and Spanish, which in fact, was what we were looking for. Distance from town is sufficient but not so far that a taxi would not suffice. Food and wine quite pleasant.
