Sinchon Gaon Hostel

Hotel Director Jeongwon Daniel Lee went above and beyond to help us during a difficult situation. He was also on call to assist with any needed English translation with the staff. Everybody was very friendly and accommodating. Exceptional bedding. A great choice when traveling on a budget.

The hotel is misrepresented. This is a small motel, with a bit of deco. The room is small. There is no space for luggage, no closet, and only one hanger behind the door. Good location if you could not find a reasonable room near Hongik or Erwa university.

일본인 여자친구가 한국에 놀러와서 예약했는데 매우 만족하였습니다. 친절하시고 방도 깔끔하고 냄새도 안나는데 더이상 뭘 바라겠어요ㅋㅋ 더이상 바라면 욕심이죠. 티비도 가깝고 좋아요!

Good

Great value for money; good wifi; espresso machine in lobby; great location near Yonsei University and restaurant area; close to Metro station. Only negatives were that rooms were on the small side and bathroom toiletries were not that great. While staff spoke little English, it was enough to be understood.

신촌세브란스병원에 일이 있어 근처는 전부 러브모텔이라 일부러 서강대 앞에서 예약한 호텔입니다. 호텔이라 하기도 뭐한 모텔 수준입니다. 그냥 하루밤 자고 왓습니다. 주차장은 차 한대 댈 장소 밖에 없어서 근처 주차장 1만원 주고 세웟습니다 다시 가라면 안갑니다.

ホテル内はキレイでした。スタッフさんの対応もよく、満足でした。しかし少し壁が薄いためか、隣の部屋の声や廊下の声が少しきになりました。

Not bad for solo getaway

Overall it was an okay stay which friendly and english speaking staff. Some bullet points: + close to a subway station + nice room including the bath + very traditional (gave me house-shoes for the room, dressing gown, ...) - no closet in the room - housekeeping is only once per stay which is not a big thing for a 2-day-stay, however I stayed 7 days which was annoying, - drain of the sink was leaking and dropped on the floor

Although the rooms and facilities were all fine, this hotel is located in a fairly seedy neighbourhood with a lot of love motels and the likes. While it may be fine for young couples, families or people looking or a place to put up their friends may want to take this into consideration.
