Oaklands Hotel

No CCTV in front car park and my car was damaged by someone, presumably another guest. Lady on reception not helpful at all. I do feel that the hotel owes it to its guests to Have CCTV as I would then have known who hit my car.

Bathroom not great, food ok, bar average

The location was good. It was also the hotel we were married at.

Our original room, had marks over the walls skirting boards, stained curtains, old TV which didn't work with the remote, grab didn't work in the shower/bathroom, lounge area settee was very hard when sat upon, nose is easily heard from the room upstairs especially walking. There wasn't any washing up cloths or soap near the kitchen sink. After moving rooms, the only negatives were, the shower head was falling off, therefore required screwing on to work correctly. We eventually got the heating working in the rooms, finding out from reception that we had under for hearing. The controls don't work in all rooms, especially for the shower room. The shower room fan was very noisy, and the hair dryer sounded like a lawn mower. The hair dryer was old and had no PAT testing labels attached. Maybe it was a faulty one left by a previous customer.

Staff were very pleasant, breakfast was good, the room was very comfortable & warm.

Breakfast and donner were first rate! Really great food and value. Highly recommend eating here!

Rooms needed more cleaning and didn't smell fresh. The venue in general needs TLC, decking needs to be washed, gardening done, tables cleaned, smoking trays emptied. The marquee needs better heating & cleaning as it smells musky.
