The Traddock

The room was pleasant - bathroom well appointed and reasonably clean - underside of toilet seat looked poor. Room smelt of wet dog, the furniture needed a steam clean. The bed was ok but it needs a new matress - no comfort left in it - no pillow protectors but bedding very clean.

The overall standard of cleanliness throughout the property was highly unsatisfactory. The carpets in all areas of the building were heavily stained at the edges and appeared not to have been cleaned for a considerable period. There was a strong and persistent smell of dog upon entering the premises, suggesting inadequate sanitation and poor housekeeping practices. The skirting boards were covered in dirt, the stairs and handrails were visibly dirty, and paint flaking off most of the rails - the handrails were dirty to hold. The carpets on the stairways were particularly unclean, with ingrained dirt and debris that are wholly inappropriate for accommodation advertised as five‑star. In light of these issues, it is difficult to understand how this property has received a five‑star rating. I would strongly recommend that Booking.com arranges for an inspector to visit the hotel, as its current condition bears little resemblance to the photographs displayed on your website and certainly you need to highlight this is a totally dog friendly property! This experience did not meet five‑star standards in any respect and did not justify the £245 charged for a single night. Breakfast was adequate but lacked variety and did not elevate the overall impression. we were extremely disappointed and will not be returning.

Everything! We booked one of the hotels suites and it was absolutely perfect! The tub is huge which was an awesome treat to take a “swim” in a huge bath! Room was exquisite, the bed were so comfortable and the room warm and comfortable! Staff are fantastic! Helpful and absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable! Food (tasting menu) was fabulous!!

Lovely breakfast choice with excellent gluten free full English. Dinner was superb - beautiful Bream- and excellent service in the restaurant. The hotel staff were welcoming and attentive and we enjoyed relaxing in the lounge in front of an open fire. The bed was super comfy and we appreciated the melt-in-the mouth shortbread biscuits and fresh fruit in the room. This is a hotel where guests are made to feel special.

Friendly helpful staff

On the edge of the beautiful Dales village of Austwick the Traddock has a great country house feel and we particularly enjoyed the roaring log fire . Very comfortable bed and a good cooked breakfast.

Nothing to dislike. Being picky some croissants/pastries at breakfast would be nice . The brasserie food is “fancy” more than hearty but that’s a matter of taste and it was good.

The food was excellent, particularly the breakfast and lunch but the dinner - we had two starters each fell a little short. Accomodation was excellent within the confines of the property - there was no lift to the first floor, but we coped ok.

What a beautiful place, the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room was so luxurious, with a huge comfortable bed. The breakfast was gorgeous, we could taste the quality of the food. Overall what an amazing place xx
