Right in the centre of town but quiet room

Parking is very difficult on site but long term parking (pay and display) around 500m away

Excellent location. Not expensive. When my teas and coffees were topped up someone noticed I had bought a bottle of water for drinking and a bottle was provided alongside a glass. Room had everything you needed and the bed was clean and comfortable. Friendly/ helpful staff.

The room was compact. The black mould in the shower was off putting. On the Monday night, I was heading for an early night but it was very noisy until 10.45pm when the noise switched off. TV turned itself on twice - once in the middle of the night.

A quirky hotel with friendly staff. However, had to wait 40 minutes after check in (I presented at the correct check in time) for my room to be ready and was largely ignored as I waited. This was after a long journey and cut into my afternoon plans. The window of my room overlooked the atrium so no sleep possible before 11 as the entrance to the bar is off the atrium too so the sound of live music travelled up and a loud altercation at closing time was all too audible! Service in the restaurant was friendly but the food was mediocre at best with a meagre portion - disappointing for the price - my ice cream was not my idea of Cornish ice cream, I’m afraid. The salted caramel was more salt than caramel. My room was small, cute and comfortable but I was woken in the middle of the night by my tv which turned on by itself! Well, it’s a 17th century building so who knows? All in all, could do better!
