The hotel is situated in a beautiful spot, close to the motorway and on the edge of Lake Veluwe. In the past, I stayed here often when it was still called Postiljon and Mercure. The rooms, location, and food were excellent back then. This time, the room was fine, clean, and spacious. The beds have mattresses that are far too soft and are only 80 cm wide. The room is clean, well-equipped, with a flat-screen TV, good Wi-Fi, sufficient wardrobe space (flat and hanging), a desk, and two good chairs in the seating area. There is sufficient light, although one of the bedside lamps lacked a bulb. Next to the beds is a power outlet for charging phones, for example. There is also a kettle with tea and coffee in the cupboard. The bathroom is clean, but not very spacious. In fact, the door to the bathroom opens on the wrong side (the bathroom side), meaning the shower is closed off when the door is open. Shower water partially leaks from the shower area into the bathroom. I would rate the room, bathroom, and facilities a 7. The breakfast is vegetarian, so no fried bacon, no ham, no sausage, but vegetarian fake meat products. The boiled eggs, both hard and soft-boiled, were cold. The scrambled eggs were lukewarm and very dry but floated on some water at the bottom of the sealed pan. The vegetables were much too overcooked and mushy in their sealed pan/dish. The mushrooms were cold and the pan was practically empty. The bake-off rolls were undercooked, so they were neither crispy nor warm. The fruit was fresh and looked appealing. Furthermore, there was a sufficient choice of very standard sandwich fillings, without going into detail. I am not a vegetarian and I love a hearty, high-quality, fresh, warm, and varied breakfast; that provides a nice start to the day, especially in a hotel. Also, the cold drinks, labeled as fresh orange juice, were watery, and the term "fresh"?? After my very positive previous experiences, albeit a long time ago, this was a very disappointing visit and not worth repeating for us. Incidentally, the staff in the lobby were very friendly; there is certainly no lack of that.
