The Victoria Hotel

The location was good, an easy 20 minute walk into the main sights of Canterbury. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant served a good variety of food at a reasonable price and we were quite happy to eat there rather than walk into Canterbury every evening. The rooms were clean and had obviously been fairly recently refurbished. There was plenty of parking on site.

Ietwat verouderd hotel en dat zie je hier en daar .Geen lift , dus even klimmen met koffers.

The restaurant was nice and the breakfast was good. The room was spacious. However there was no refrigerator in the room and I like to keep my medications with me and not in a central refrigerator. The room was warm but it was easy to open the windows and cool it down. Location is great to visit and explore Canterbury.

The room needed a face-lift. I booked via booking.com. As the confirmation page didnt appear, i tried again and finally had the booking confirmed. When I arrived, the hotel said I had booked two rooms. I explained to the receptionist who said she wasn't sure about the process for cancellation. Meantime I contacted booking.com, but they said it was entirely up to the hotel if they would accept the cancellation. Once I explained to the receptionist, she said she would do her best to get the additional booking cancelled, and my money refunded.However, it wasn't. Outcome: I was charged 2 x £148 for 2 nights. Very disappointing, both from booking.com who's app had somehow allowed me to duplicate the booking, and from the hotel itself, which could easily have waived the fee.
