Angel Hotel

Overall the hotel is great. No doubt… BUT an alarm went off at 8am on the Sunday morning (!!!) not only that but it kept stopping, then coming back on, again…and again over the course of about 20mins. So really was NOT happy about that at all!!

Convenient for what i wanted to do

The check in staff were so welcoming and friendly. We had a lovely room but there was quite a bit of noise from the street as there are single glazed windows.

Quirky Hotel. Historic. However, it feels somewhat 'unloved'. Parts of the Hotel don't belong to the Hotel itself. For example, the bar is a cabaret/private party venue and the restaurant (Bills) is another business. The private party venue, 'The Fallen Angel' is very noisy, so ensure you request a room a way from that if you want some peace and quiet. The Hotel is a rabbit warren, with a lot of steps to climb if you are in some rooms. We were in 'Lord Byron' room. Lovely and big, a suite on the 3rd floor. 62 steps from the room to reception. 3 or 4 flights of stairs to climb, no lifts. The room itself lacked basic amenities. No wifi, television had very limited channels, only BBC1 and 2. No phone to call front desk or organise a wake up call. No mirrors anywhere except the bathroom, no fridge, limited tea and coffee, water. We had to ask for more. No 'special' touches.. ie, no flowers, fruit, chocolates. The staff were ok, friendly, but fairly ineffective. They just seem to sit on the front desk and do not have much to offer in resolving anything. Felt sorry for the young lugging a massive suitcase up tge stairs on her own, surely a Health & Safety issue? Not sure if we would stay here again. Best thing about this Hotel, is the location.

Its a old coaching bouse right in the middle of Guildford. Got great history!

Lovely big room. I know it’s an old property and the windows can’t be changed but it was noisy from the street below. Also there was no mirror where the hairdryer could reach. It just needs a portable mirror or an extension lead for hairdryer.

Large, comfy room with great amenities. Perfect location on the High Street, close to the train station and nearby car parks. Would recommend!

Interesting old building. Room fine, all clean and with necessary facilities. Handy for centre of Guildford

Quick city stop travelling back from Dubai, very helpful with late check-in.
