Manoir de Savigny

Hotel very pretty with friendly proprietor. Excellent access to major Normandy sites. Town was very accessible with many places to eat, etc. Would stay again.

Within 20 minutes of Normandy beaches and museums and about 30 minutes to Bayeux, the approach on a one lane road through surrounding farmlands,followed by a winding tree lined drive opening to the Chateau and gardens sets up the experience to come nicely. Owners were gracious and entertained us with the history of the Chateau and surrounding area of Valognes. Rooms are clean and comfortable and feature themed decor from the owner's travels in Africa. There is an honor system bar and the breakfast provided filled us up for the morning. The building has been completely restored by the current owners with comfortable beds and modern baths.

A centuries old building in a beautiful country setting provides a very memorable experience. The owner took the time to explain the history of the manoir, helping us to appreciate the place even more. Looking back on the visit, we are disappointed that we could only stay one night.

A charming B&B in a lovely setting. Eric, the host was helpful but not hovering. After a week of traveling around France and seeing many crowded tourist sights a few days enjoying the gardens and quiet rural neighborhood was refreshing.

This quiet and picture perfect B&B was a wonderful place to stay in Normandy. The rooms, grounds and hosts earned our very highest recommendation.

Very easy to find with signage right off the exit. Plenty of parking. Large clean room. Very quiet location in the country. Very friendly owner. I highly recommend this location.

We can't say enough wonderful things about our experience. We wished that we had planned to stay longer. Our Host, Eric was great. We were welcomed and well taken care of. We spent evenings chatting with Eric about France and the Normandy area. He also gave us information, about the area , that was very helpful. We would highly recommend this lovely Manor and hope to go back there again, some day.

The best part of the stay was the 500 yr old building, which is maintained to a high standard. Lovely setting, and the owners are incredibly friendly and attentive. There is no food served at night, only breakfast, but we received a recommendation to a restaurant a short distance away that had great food.

We stayed here for two nights in June 2013. The building is 500 years old but has been restored magnificently, and is still an ongoing project. Our room was on the 3rd floor, a bit of a trek up 3 flights of a spiral staircase, but was well worth it. Our room was spacious and airy with a large bed, two chairs and a small table, and plenty of storage and some hanging space. The bathroom is large, with a toilet, large basin and a long, deep bath with a hand-held shower. There is no shower curtain, so you do need to be careful so water doesn't spray everywhere. The lounge area has a sofa and chairs, and the dining room, where self-serve breakfast is eaten, is beautiful with large windows looking out onto the beautiful garden and grassy surrounds. The host, Eric (who speaks excellent English), and his wife are friendly and helpful. If you cannot manage the stairs it would be best to request a ground floor room when you book. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this beautiful home.

Very comfy bed and lovely room. Breakfast had good chotce and owners were very friendly. No telephone in room was disappointing.
