"Short stay with family of 4"

8.0

Extremely friendly staff especially the people working at breakfast! Rooms and common areas were very clean and tidy. Good location near the marina and beach.

It wasn't clear when we made the booking that there was a surcharge for the pool. The beach was very close so we spent our time there instead but as a family if we would have stayed longer we would probably wanted to spend more time at the pool which costs extra.

"A great stay"

10.0

My wife and I stayed at the Eden Bleu for four nights as part of an organised group of 25. The hotel was comfortable and friendly. I don't recognise it from the moans of those who posting below went in a group in May. We had two meals there as a group, both superb. Breakfast was good. The food charged extra for was that which was individually ordered and cooked. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I can only suspect that those below who moan about the size are either untidy, have never stayed in a hotel before or usually book a suite. The shuttle bus was not the best, but it was a "hotels" bus not just for Eden Bleu customers, and they have no control over it. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was nobody sat behind the bar waiting for customers but when we wanted a drink the receptionist called a member of stuff to serve us and we could go and sit in the comfortable area to the left of the door.

"We will be back!"

10.0

We have just enjoyed a few days at this hotel, from the moment we arrived they did everything they could to ensure we were comfortable. My mums walker did not arrive at the airport, they arranged for us to borrow a wheelchair for the duration of our stay at no cost. Without this my mom would not have had much of a holiday at all! The room was clean and the patio area nice to sit in the evenings. The breakfast was typical Italian which was nice, there are some other items which come at an extra small cost. We knew before we came out that to use the pool sun loungers there was a charge so this was not a surprise and is typical of the area. The restaurant was not open while we were there but it may be because it is early in the season. The hotel is family run, they are so friendly and welcoming nothing was too much. We would definitely recommend this hotel, don't listen to the moaning reviews!

"Avoid at all costs!"

2.0

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff dismissive. Owners children use the restaurant as their own dining room along with the pool which is filthy. Bar never opens. Pool bar never opens. €20 per person per day to use a sunbed and towels. The only people to use the filthy pool were the owners children on Sunday. Their wet towels were still in the basket when we left the following Thursday. Whole area never cleaned or tidied. Only area to sit and relax is a corner in the car park. Owners wife serves the table chewing gum, blowing her nose and generally sneering at guests. Try to book the shuttle bus which is not free as they advertise but €5 pp per trip and they cannot guarantee that it will actually pick you up. Told to arrive 5 minutes beforehand to see if it arrives and if there is space. If not apparently it’s not their problem. They would not call the shuttle company to check. Food is cold. Poor quality. Coffee is always cold. Meals served with contempt. Only positive is that the hotel itself is spotless thanks to the lovely cleaning lady Rose.

"Glad to leave this hotel"

2.0

After reading all the good reviews for this 4* hotel I can only deduce that they must have been written by friends and family as this would not merit 2 stars. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff are polite, but the rooms are broom cupboard size with no storage space to speak of. The breakfast (continental self service) is fairly good but we had set evening meals on two occasions which were awful. At least there are some decent restaurants in the nearby harbour area which give good service and value. Getting to the railway station was difficult as the advertised shuttle was always fully booked, or so we were told. Only the fittest can make the steep uphill journey on foot. Taxis are the only other option or a boat trip. Overall one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

"Hotel has promise, but the management needs to implement some changes."

6.0

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Saga group of 26 people. We found the hotel to be exceptionally clean, bright and stylish in design. The seating area around the bar (which was never open) did not have enough seats for all people to congregate. We did eat breakfast every day, but found that difficult as the toaster took forever to brown any toast, so we made do with warm bread most of the time. Extra food was on offer, but at a charge. Rooms were adequate and again very clean. Air conditioning was good. The one thing that spoilt this stay was that there was a charge of 20 euros to ‘hire ‘ a sun bed around the tiny rooftop swimming pool (a towel was included in the price). This was for each person. No one had ever stayed at a hotel that did this. This sullied the mood of the group and an atmosphere of resentment did prevail. All of these things could have been remedied quickly but the family run management stuck to their guns and refused to alter anything. I am afraid we did not have any extra alcoholic drinks and chose to go elsewhere for refreshments. We did make use of the hotel shuttle bus, but also found that sometimes we had to get a taxi. The location made it difficult to walk into the town of Vico Equense, but we managed to get there by cab. The town was worth the visit as it was devoid of tourists. Overall fairly disappointed.

"Location let down by atrocious food."

2.0

On a group tour spending four days in this hotel. Modern, clean, basic but comfortable standard room overlooking car park. Facilities that are usually included in such tours and were actually extras including 5 euros each to use shuttle bus to local town, 20 euros each for towel to allow use of swimming pool and extra charge for cooked breakfast items described as a la carte. The bar was never staffed or open during our stay and requests for daytime drinks seldom delivered. The biggest disappointment related to the food supplied at both breakfast and dinner. In both cases a poor choice of items for a four star graded hotel. The food was invariably cold to tepid ,never hot. The quality of meat very poor, large amounts of gristle. Soups thick and cold and desserts no choice at all and again basic. Overall an hotel to use for bed and breakfast at best if travelling with an organised tour group. Maybe if independent traveller you may fare better if you can pay the extras. A real shame as the location is ideal. This hotel needs to up,its game in the catering department asap. Would not stay here again.

"Awful Food had to pay to use the pool"

2.0

Pokey rooms. No mirror or bin in room except bathroom. Only shelf space was winder-sill. Have to keep hand on button in shower to keep water flowing. No drawers. Food was awful apart from the breakfast which was passable. Only if wanted any cooked was an extra cost. The pool and sun loungers were 20 euro….ive never heard of this anywhere else I’ve been….scandalous. The bar in the lounge area was never open. Would never recommend to anyone..

"Disappointing!"

4.0

How this hotel deserves its 4* rating is a mystery. My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights as part of a group of 26 people with a UK travel company. Whilst the hotel is in a good location, just a stone's throw from a pretty little marina with, thankfully, a few nice restaurants, our experience was disappointing to say the least. Whilst our room was clean, it was compact and quite basic. Breakfast was adquate but there were additional charges if you wanted fresh orange juice (what was offered to us appeared to be no more than diluted squash), bacon and eggs or an omelette, etc. Our stay here included two evening meals. The first, on the day we arrived, was a "take it or leave it" set menu, with nothing offered if you declined one of the courses (many of our group declined the belly of pork). Dinner on our last evening was no better. Whilst we had a choice of three menus, the meat option was a pork fillet. When it was served, it was quite small and was accompanied only by a few salad leaves - no potatoes or other vegetables at all! We can't fault the reception staff or those who served in the dining room. However, we did feel that our group was merely tolerated in the hotel and not treated as valued guests, especially where the menus were concerned. Judging by the comments made by others who have stayed independently in the hotel, it appears that there is definately a two-tier system in place with regards to menus. Moving on from the restaurant, there was a notice in our room that if we wanted to use the pool and a sunbed at any time, there would be a charge of Euros 20 per person to do so! Never have we stayed in a hotel where an extra charge had been levied to use the pool! Quite unbelievable. All in all, a very disappointing stay.
