Wonderful hotel with very attentive staff. Our stay in Zagreb was short, but Hotel Pantovcak made us wish it was a bit longer!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They let us leave some luggage when we checked out as we were travelling to Dubrovnik for a week and kept it till our return which was much appreciated. The beds were a bit too hard. The rooms at the back of the hotel were much nicer than the one we had but it was still a decent enough room. The aircon was a bit noisy. The breakfast room is lovely especially when the doors are all open. The hotel is a bit of a hike from the centre and is up a hill which was fine when we stayed but in the height of summer the heat would be an issue if you wanted to walk back. Had a great stay and glad we chose this hotel.
The hotel is a nice, interesting building, initially seems very stylish, but lacked some extra touches and lacked atmosphere. Service was a little difficult at times, especially at breakfast, due to only one person working at a time between kitchen, reception and rest of hotel. A personal service should feel nice, but wasn't very relaxing, as it was a case of catch someone while you can (eg. For tea at breakfast time) and then were conscious they were being taken away from other duties. Breakfast was quite basic, croissants were quite stale. There were no tea making facilities in the room, which meant calling someone to ask, then I was surprised that it was added to the bill as extras. It was nice and clean, the room was a bit bare, could have been made more interesting, in line with the rest of the hotel. The pillows were very lumpy and uncomfortable. I was very much looking forward to my stay here and wouldn't normally mention these type of issues but I think for the price there really could have been more attention to detail and a more hospitable feel to the place. We did recieve excellent sightseeing info when we arrived, which was very thorough and useful.

Beautiful and modern small boutique hotel in Zagreb, close to downtown. Excellent service (we were the only guests staying and they made sure we had everything we needed), even though the kitchen was closed because the one cook they had was sick. Beautiful green backyard with quiet terrace directly off our room. Amazing huge soaking tub in the room, we stayed in a two room suite. Bit of a walk uphill from Old Town, but worth it if you want to avoid the over-crowded hotels in the heart of Zagreb. Great value for the price, very safe neighborhood. Wish we could have stayed longer, we were just there overnight to catch our plane out of Zagreb the next morning and probably didn't make use of all the hotel had to offer.
