Hotel Casona Colon Inn

Great stay at the casona colon inn. We arrived sick and tired (and unexpectedly) and this hotel nursed us back to health. Wonderful staff helped us find a garage in the area for our rental car (literally got in the car and drove with us there). The dinner meal was amazing, breakfast was free and the server incredibly friendly. The free tea 24 hours a day on each floor, along with the cozy sitting area on the third floor were a big hit for us. It's not a Hilton (don't expect 5 star American standards anywhere other than 5 star American hotel chains), but it's amazing all the same.

We arrived to Puno with a hotel booking and upon arrival to our hotel we were told they didn't have it and didn't have a room. We searched all over the city, going into several places desperate to find a place at 8:00 at night with all our luggage. We stubbled across Hotel Casona Colon and I had high hopes that even though they wouldn't have a room, maybe the staff would help us find somewhere else. We walked in and were greeted so graciously. I asked if the receptionist spoke English and he said 'alittle'. He is a liar because his English was fantastic! I told him our story and he found us a room in no time at all. I actually started to cry seeing as to how for an hour I thought we would be sleeping in a bus station... not this beautiful hotel. We were escorted to our room, given the wifi and treated with utmost care and professionalism. I will always be SO grateful for this hotel, their staff and their very very comfy beds. We stayed on feb. 5th - I can't remember the concierges name but thank you thank you thank you!!!! I highly recommend and if we are ever in Puno again, we won't think twice before staying here!

We've stayed two nights in the Casona Colon Inn hotel. We always had problems with the shower and one of the bedrooms we got was near a club and therefore it was too noisy. So ask for a quiet room!! Otherwise, everybody was gentle, they kept our bags during our stay in Amantani and breakfast was very good. I guess if it was cheaper I wouldn't mind but for the price we paid I was expecting more!

Bom atendimento, bem localizado, cômodo, cafe bom...

Stayed for 2 nights over 3 days as part of an Intrepid tour. Room on the 2nd floor was really comfortable. Arrived after a long bus ride, no hot water. First night was on a saturday with a disco that felt like it was in our room banging on till the early hours. Then someone decieded to rearrange the furniture in the middle of the night. So not much sleep. Breakfast was ok and waiter friendly. Second day of stay a heater was on in the room which was a nIce touch and we were even given hot water bottles. But again no chuffing hot water. Overall staff really friendly but needs refurbishment, get rid of the disco, turn some lights on. Oh and some hot water would be an added bonus as i now have a bus trip to Cusco and i smell real bad ...

We were met by desk clerk in suit and tie. A bellhop was standing by and followed us to room even though we told him we didn't need him. Not enough bathroom tissue in room and had to ask for more. The second night they only left us one towel for two people to take showers with. Had to ask for extra towel. Room was clean. 110 outlets. Hallways dark. Breakfast was ok with thinly sliced fruit, cheese and meat rolls and bread. Lots of juice choices. They did cook eggs for us. Coffee and tea.They provide Laundry Service.

The theme is colonial but they at least need to do some updating of their paints and policies. The hotel is centrally located, the reception area acceptable but you can feel how old the place is and seem quite gloomy. We occupied the room on the 2F which was a corner room. You could hear squeaking sound in some areas of the floor, the bathroom fixtures are also dated. Since it was so cold (0-7C), we requested for a heater. They brought a small one and we were occupying a quadruple-sharing room. They replaced it with a newer one after much discussion. Though we were ready to sleep early, my daughter had to get something from my sister-in-law's room which was just across the hallway & we were surprised that all the lights were already off! They need to seriously look into this for security and safety reasons. Breakfast was another issue, while they have they serve the usual continental stuff; we would like some hard-boiled eggs and not the scarmbled one. The waiter was quite rude has he was laughing in a not so nice way, when my daughter told him what we wanted. However, teh guy at the reception was really trying very hard to please the guests! He needs commendation in that area!
