Villa Anka

Anka, the owner was a lovely lady and very welcoming. We arrived later than expected due to our flight being delayed. Anka, had left us homemade cherry wine and cake, which were delicious. She popped in every day to make sure we had fresh towels etc . The bedlinen was changed once during our week-long stay. Anka lives on the premises so if we had needed anything we could call on her. All in all we would recommend Villa Anka.

We could have done with more kitchen utensils, although, we only really had breakfast in the apartment. It stated on booking.com that there was a microwave and toaster. There was no microwave and no English toaster, just a sandwich toaster which I think the Croatians class as a toaster. This wouldn't have been a problem if there was a grill on the oven but there wasn't. The location was about 5 minutes walk from the town down a steep road with steps, which wasn't a problem going down, however, if you have problems with mobility or are older it's abit much walking back up in the heat. However, taxis are readily available and there are buses.

Anka is a fantastic host, really nice and helpful! There was a downpour on one of our days, she brought in the clothes/towels we had on the balcony so they didnt get wet. The room was spacious and balcony was lovely. Short walk into Cavtat town, although it is steep on the way back up but very doable for most.

No fault of the villa but it is directly under the flight path of Dubrovnik airport (assume this is the same for most hotels in Cavtat) and can be quite noisy when planes go over, if you are a light sleeper this may impact you.

All good - bit of a hill - but fine if you can walk a bit.

Anka was very hospitable. Nice quiet area.

People with mobility issues might struggle with the with the 7 minutes walk up from the town. No problem for the young and fit.

Lovely helpful host ideal location many restaurants and easy to get busses and ferry s to elsewhere easy access to dubrovnik

We stayed in a 1 bed apartment self catering, everything provided. Owner Anka is a lovely lady very welcoming & kind,makes juice &cake for guests.

Facilities i.e.bathroom needs updating,shower has a large step up into it. Towels hard need updating. Bed linen needs updating. While facilitues are all good there is need for investment in all stated. The apartment is up a very steep hill its ok going down but coming back up is extremely steep so beware if you have walking difficulties. After dark it is quite a dark area so we always got a taxi back at night cost 9euro. Cavtat airport is on the flight path so it can be noisy until late &flights commence early morning. This would be same in many areas around Cavtat.

Anke's generosity of spirit. When we were unable to turn up for our booking, Anke kindly let us transfer for the following night. We incurred no cost for the first evening and we were even able to come to the apartment earlier than the stated check in time. The apartment was clean, bright and a welcoming haven of tranquility in the busy world outside. Anke left a sweet treat to eat and drink on our arrival - the perfect host.

That we were moving on to discover more of Croatia as we journeyed northwards. So we had to leave!

Quiet location. Efficient air conditioning. Shower was powerful and hot.

Plates, cups, mugs, cutlery, kitchen knives, drainer, fridge, towels, should all be renewed, very old!! Had to ask for toiletries and toaster which were listed in facilities but not there. Had to use sandwich maker for toast first few days before a new toaster arrived. Toiletries supplied were used shampoos from previous guests and a new shower gel arrived during the week. Only two spare plug sockets in the entire apartment and they were in the kitchen, so we had to have the toaster (when it arrived) on the floor to reach the socket. Very few hangers all different varieties.
