Our bathroom sink would not drain - staff came and jammed a rod down the sink, and caused it to leak all over the floor. They said it was "slow" to drain. We demanded a refund and got Management confirmation of a refund. We had to book a different hotel and move. It was a disaster.

It was clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Pet fee was too high ($40) There is no AC. The white thing above the doorway didn't work. Windows dont allow much breeze.

Loved my stay at Palomar Inn. I was in the area for a memorial. Easy check in, lovely comfortable bed, big shower. Coffee, microwave, fridge - all the things. It's quite close to 101, but honestly that wasn't much of an issue. It's also two blocks from the beach and a lovely walk along the shoreline. Thanks!

There was nothing to like. We spent +$350 for 3 hours sweating in hot box hotel room with insufficient air conditioning, to accept an *offered* refund that management later refused to pay.

This is the first time I've written a negative review, however I feel that the management's complete lack of integrity merits this summary for others to consider before booking. The air conditioning had no cooling effect on the room despite 3 hours of effort. At 9pm, still sweating in the hot and stuffy room, we asked to be moved to a room with working AC. Instead, we were offered - and accepted - a refund so we could stay elsewhere. We packed up the car and kids and were told the hotel could not process the refund at that time, as it had “to be processed thru Booking.com”. In fact, the unscrupulous manager had no intention of refunding our money. Booking.com contacted the hotel to initiate the refund and the hotel refused to make the refund. So, we spent +$350 for 3 hours sweating in a hot box hotel room trying unsuccessfully to get the air conditioning to work. Do yourself a favor, skip the Palomar Inn. Spend the extra $ to stay at a nice place on the beach where management has integrity, the air conditioning actually works, and customer service is priority.
