Hotel Yaja Jongno

I was traveling alone and first time in Seoul, and this hotel was perfectly located near metro and bus, restaurants and shops. The personal was kind and helpful. The room was clean and quiet.

The bed was thin.

Not much, but very close to nice areas.

Room had bad cold cigarette smell. Bed similar hard like a futon bed. Money not worth.

The room was excellent, the location was a lot of fun and the staff was on top of everything including free coffee and snacks in the lobby.

That is didn’t get to stay longer

A convenient hotel for those of you wanting to spend as much time in Insadong. You just cross the street and bamm!! Insadong Heaven... I booked for 8 days/7nights. First night was a shock due to the size and condition of the room. But hey when you go purely for the street food and street side shopping it will do just fine. I asked for a different room on the spot and they changed it for me on the next day. The staff is very help, very kind and very considerate. If you are looking for anything beyond a bed and bath then look elsewhere. I didnt try their 'breakfast' cheese, toast & eggs didnt scream eat me so i very gladly ate from the heavenly food stalls on the street. The room was very well heated and dont bother paying attention to the bed linens or else you wont sleep. or just bring your own pillow cases. WiFi is a huge plus and the toilet was funky :))

I went in Korea 5 years ago and I stayed in the Hotel Cats back then, so this time when I had 2 days in Seoul I didn't even consider going somewhere else !! The hotel is right to the Subway station Jongno-3-ga (line 1, line 3 and line 5) so it's really easy to go there from the airport or from the KTX from Seoul Station (when you reach the subway station take exit #4 or 5). The hotel is located in a quiet small street and when you get off that street you a directly into an animated area. Insa-Donc is located in a very short walking distance, same for Gwanghwamun square and the statue of King Sejong the Great (under the statue there is a free museum, a must do when you are in Seoul) The room are nice and clean and very well equipped, the mini bar is free and you can even have a free ice cream in the lobby, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I think I have found my spot for when I'll come back to Korea

My partner and I stayed at Cats for a week. It was very pleasant most of the time. We chose Cats primarily for its location - which it didn't disappoint. It is a 3-5 minutes walk from the exit 5 of the Jongno-3-ga station (a major station in Seoul city) . Please note that the station has multiple exits and exit 5 is the nearest. It wasn't the easiest place to find, however, all we needed to do was refer to our map which we prepared earlier. Just be prepared and you wouldn't have any issues finding the place. The room was cosy enough though a little bit dark and often smelt of smoke. The smoky smell came from the hallways. The breakfast was simple, okay and good enough to keep us going for the morning. It was nice to come back after a hot hot hot day and cool down with the free ice cream. Every flavour we tried was tantalising. It was also nice to return to the room after a sweltering day to find drinks in the fridge to quench our thirst. We really appreciated it. It's just water right? But water never tasted better after the intense walking and sweating we did. If you don't plan on staying in the room all day, I would recommend this place.
