The view

This hotel was the third hotel we stayed in during our 10 days long Brittany trip. If our experience at our first two hotels had not been beyond perfect, we would probably have liked this place very very much, but compared to the other two hotels we stayed in before, this hotel was a little weak: our room (no: 14) was a bit smaller in size, the front view we were expecting (we had booked via Expedia a room with front view, ie, sea view) was not direct as we had envisioned but nevertheless we loved it here. The ambiance was very romantic, the building and its gardens were very peaceful. The indoor seating area with the large windows is legendary. The room where the breakfast is served (which is also the Michelin starred restaurant) has gorgeous views and the breakfast is very satisfactory as well. Location of the hotel is very central, parking lot is small, we had to park at an electric vehicle lot as there was no other vacant lot left. The main thing, though it's just a nuance, that bothered me was the sentiment at the entrance (not exactly a traditional hotel reception): one expects a very customer oriented greeting in such a hotel whereas what we have experienced was an impersonal, almost cold welcome. It was not rude, nothing like that, but it did not make us feel welcomed.

Attractive Villa in good location with several options close by to eat.

Our 2 night stay was spoiled on second night by loud music blasting across the river from Benodet to celebrate a French national festival. This lasted until 12pm. If we had been advised at the time of booking we would have changed our dates. The manager was not available when we checked out but reception said they would pass on our complaint. It wasn’t until I emailed the manager 4 days later that I received a very reluctant apology and disclaiming any responsibility for the disturbance. The manager did not bother to respond when I mentioned we should have been forewarned of the loud festivities. This is a very expensive hotel and guests should be advised if the usual tranquility is likely to be disturbed

Only stayed 3 days.

The hotel was in a lovely location although our room didn't have a view of the sea. We were near a little harbour and there were several restaurants nearby. We ate in the harbour area not at the hotel. Great cafe near the ferry where we had a delicious lunch.

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as they wanted 22 Euros per person which we felt was a little too expensive.

Poor service and understaffed.

Really enjoyed this hotel overlooking the port with boats and great scenery. Rooms are comfortable and roomy. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. A few very good restaurants are within walking distance. A village surrounds it - great for a walk!
