We requested a room with river / Mountain View but were given a ‘garden suite’. - which had a view of the car park and was adjacent to the kitchen and opposite the kitchen store. Sweltering hot until late evening, noisy during restaurant hours and deliveries

Breakfast was very good, garden suite well appointed,grounds peaceful. NB please swap likes / dislikes

Beautiful location and very relaxed approach. Hosts were great, and the room really nice.

A delightful place to stay. Despite the heat wave we managed to have two very relaxing nights in “Sarah’s Room”. The extra large double bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts and evening meal were particularly good.

Fantastic position and delightfully quirky place to stay. Very dog friendly although should you not enjoy having them around it could be off putting. A very enjoyable and memorable overnight stay on route to Scotland.

There was nothing we would dislike or change.

Staff not as welcoming as should be expected. No offer made to help with our luggage. Our room accessible only by going outside the building and re- entering - unsatisfactory. Room satisfactory but not of a standard I would have expected in a hotel of this class - unguarded light in the bathroom, no fresh milk, no nespresso machine

Being woken up at 6.30 am with slamming doors and radio news from the kitchen below.Shower blocked and overflowed into the bathroom-was offered a free drink for this which I accepted and then got charged for it on the bill
