Hotel Villa Blu Capri

The property was pleasant, clean and centrally located. We didn’t receive the welcome drinks we were told would be brought to our room but It was ok. I loved that the hotel offered room service. A need for me as I was forced to stay in and work all evening. To this end, the wifi was strong and consistent, though the room service menu left much to be desired: I was a bit disappointed with the menu. Two very small bottles of water is complimentary which in summer months almost guarantee you will need to buy extra water. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was surprisingly large with a deep soaker tub. I finished work around 1am and was still able to go out for food and a drink at a bar next door which was great. I would for sure return to this hotel for another stay.

Excellent Service

We spent one week from May 14 to 21 in Villa Blu in Anacapri for our 20th wedding anniversary. The hotel and the restaurant set a new standard in excellence. From the moment we arrived, the ownership, management and personnel amazed us with exceptional courtesy and commitment to perfection. We travelled to about 70 countries, many five star hotels, and resorts, and Villa Blu is one of the best: perfect location, close to everything yet private, well equipped gym and nice swimming pool, in fact so nice that I convinced myself to swim in the cold waters of mid-May, and well appointed rooms (ours was 208) with a nice terrace overlooking the street and glimpses of the sea. The people, though, are the real value of Villa Blu. At reception, Iana and Annalaura received us as if we were returning friends. Our room was always perfectly maintained. When housekeeping, under the careful eye of Simona, noticed that we only consume real coffee and no decaf, Angela ensured that our “inventory” of coffee capsules was all strong illy coffee. What can we say about Ristorante Capriccio with its never tiring and always cheerful owner Mario, who also happens to make the best limoncello prosecco cocktail served in cantaloupe-size lemons in Anacapri! Mario has the rarest of abilities to ensure that every cocktail and every dinner will become a cherished memory. Of course, Capriccio will not be the same without Danila, the charming mind-reading hostess, always anticipating your needs. The evening menu, we reserved on a half-board plan, is the ultimate proof for Italian cuisine having been recently voted as the best in the world. We have visited Italy for a total of about 15 times, and this is one of the best restaurants, its Michelin trained Chef Roberto is a star. This level of excellence cannot be reached without a committed team effort and our gratitude goes to Salvatore, Federica, Carmen and Fatima for their dedication to perfection. We are already planning our return. Thank you Villa Blu!

Was worried about visiting here as I had read bad reviews before the visit so was waiting for a hiccup on our weeks long holiday, so so happy that it turned out to be such a lovely place. The staff were always polite and very attentive, our room was very clean, smart and cleaned well every day. Would definitely visit again.

Great hotel, staff are lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was a large selection of nice quality food. The pool area is really nice, and everything is clean.

The air con didn’t work in our room.

The location was perfect, our first trip to Italy. The quaintness of the village, lots of shops and restaurants, all in walking distance. The manager of Villa Blue and staff were exceptional

The town was a little touristy during the day, with a lot of groups. Nice thing was that they were typically gone by 4:00 pm each day.

Definitely NOT a 5-star resort. Rooms are fine but very standard. Sheets dirty on arrival. Rooms average. Breakfast horrible. Good location in Anacapri pedestrian area but no help from hotel staff with luggage. The receptionist on arrival was lovely but the second was very unfriendly. Should be rated 4 star otherwise you will be disappointed.
