The location is beautiful, up in the mountains with stunning views. The swimming pool is nice and clean. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable.

The house looks authentic and charming from the outside, but inside the apartment felt quite old and basic. Cleanliness could be better. The air conditioner was very noisy and sometimes made it hard to sleep. The walls are thin and you can clearly hear the neighbors. Cleaning was done only once during our two-week stay, which was not enough. Laundry was inconvenient – there was only one washing machine, often occupied. No dishwasher. The access road is in poor condition and quite difficult to drive.

Pool war für mich zu kalt

The propety is located in a truly beautiful setting, with stunning views over the rolling hills of Tuscany and, in the distance, the sea. The infinity pool is also a highlight — clean, spacious enough for everyone, and offering a breathtaking panorama. It was a real pleasure to relax there. The rooms and apartments are nicely decorated and designed, giving a cozy and stylish impression. Another big plus was the host: very welcoming, polite, and attentive. We received plenty of recommendations — from the best nearby beaches to visit, to places worth exploring in the area, and even where to shop for groceries. This made our stay more convenient and gave us a warm impression of hospitality. Overall impression: While the place has undeniable charm and beauty, and offers genuine Tuscan scenery with warm hospitality, for the price of €200 per night we had different expectations. It is best suited for travelers who value natural beauty and tranquility, and don’t mind some practical inconveniences.

The road leading to the property is very narrow, an unpaved road covered with stones, which makes it quite difficult and challenging to drive on. The photos on the listing don’t clearly show the additional apartment buildings. We stayed in one located at the very top of the property, which meant walking down to the pool along a steep gravel path. The loose, slippery stones made it very inconvenient, especially in the heat, and practically impossible if wearing heels. The apartment itself was small. When we entered, there was a musty, old smell, which we managed to air out a little, but it still lingered throughout the stay. In the description, it was stated that the bedroom had one double bed and one single bed, plus a sofa bed in the kitchen/entrance area. However, in reality, there was only one double bed and a sofa bed. Since we were traveling as three people with a child, this meant that we had to fold out the sofa bed every evening and fold it back up every morning to have space to move around in the kitchen. This was not very convenient, especially in such a limited space. The kitchen also left much to be desired. While it had all the basic utensils needed for cooking, the space was very limited. There was no dishwasher, no coffee machine as listed in the description (only a moka pot), and the fridge was extremely small. Since the hotel is located up in the hills and the shops are further down in the town, it was almost impossible to buy and store enough groceries. Cooking for more than one day was not really an option because the refrigerator couldn’t hold much, and food would spoil. The kitchen furniture also felt outdated — the countertop, for example, was quite worn and peeling. Another downside was the noise. We could hear the neighbors very clearly — both from the side and from above — and when they used the shower, it often felt as if the water was pouring into our own bedroom.

Our group liked the Villa Padronale, the pool is clean and well maintained, the views are nice, a great place to retreat, relax and have a great time. Giada and the Team of Boschi di Montecalvi are very kind and helpful, making your stay so nice and memorable.

For some people the drive to the site might be challenging at first.
