"Not Impressed, not good for vegetarians"

Had a destination wedding here that I had to go to. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. I got an upgraded room which was nice. I must admit that I had a hard time with the food. Most of it is not labeled and there weren't a lot of vegetarian or vegan options. I had a translator app that I kept asking what things were. The presentation was nice, but other than bread it was hard to distinguish what I could eat. We had dinner at the restaurants and that was difficult as well. The hotel is laid out nice and the beach is beautiful. They did a good job with the wedding. I also had a day at the spa which was really nice. Overall, this is a family type of place not luxury or chic, it is definitely a tourist hotel. But if you are vegetarian it is a hard stay.

"Very bad service"

All beautiful beaches, gardens, swimming pool. But what was appalling was the behavior of the female staff in the buffet restaurants. Lazy, incompetent, nasty women!!!!! What does the management pay them for? To discourage the clientele, bravo, they did a great job. I've never seen that anywhere. It would be good to secretly sit someone there to see the reality because they make the management crazy. On Tuesday there were two ladies with tablets and asked the guests about the quality of breakfast and believe me, the way the staff worked before them is far from reality when they are not there. So if you want service where you feel bad and look at the annoyed faces of the staff, this is the only place. For me, terrible 🤦🤦🤦🤦 The worst service I have ever experienced, we regularly go to hotels like Rixos and this was a nightmare in terms of service. It's a shame to pay!

"Another gem in Punta Cana"

This year we chose Iberostar Waves Punta Cana because at first sight it looked very green and it was really like in a botanical garden! The beach was clean and the waters almost with no weeds as was the pool area with lots of space and everywhere we could have spots of shade where you could hide from scorching sun at midday. Lots of "natural "umbrellas and new chaise launges. I liked the fact that on a rainy day one can still go to places as they had covered connection walkways.Food was good and omnigenous for every taste. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. My thanks go to Spa staff! I ordered 5 masages. Special thank you to Helen, my massage therapist,who was utmost helpful and skillful. Thanks! Alltogether we had a good time. One thing has to be admitted: the decor in the lobby looked deceivingly outdated but everywhere else things were pretty much renovated. Another one, sevice staff in the cafeteria was a little too noisy when they grouped together but otherwise friendly. We might come back some other time to this hotel.

"Negative experience"

We had a very unpleasant experience related to Iberostar during our stay in the Dominican Republic. A concierge invited us with the promise of a 40% discount for a future stay and offered to show us one of the Iberostar properties. We were taken there by golf cart, so naturally we assumed we were welcome to visit and see the hotel. However, after we arrived, a staff member briefly spoke with us and shortly after that we were repeatedly asked to leave the property. This happened despite the fact that we had been invited there in the first place. The situation felt very uncomfortable and embarrassing. Being invited and then effectively told to leave made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. This experience left a very strong negative impression on us. It felt like a very aggressive and radical marketing approach where people are evaluated only as potential buyers rather than treated with basic respect. Because of this situation, our perception of the brand — and even of traveling to the Dominican Republic in the future — has been negatively affected. Hospitality should make guests feel valued, but in this case we felt the opposite. We hope the company will reconsider how such marketing interactions are handled so that other visitors do not have to experience something similar.
