JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar - Adults Only - All Inclusive

This was our first visit to the DR, but not our first Iberostar experience as we are repeat guests at both JOIA Paraiso and JOIA Rosehall. We've heard many good things about the DR (and JOIA Bavaro) and wanted to see for ourselves. Well, we weren't disappointed. From the moment we walked in to see the lovely lobby entrance, to check in and being escorted to our room, we felt the hospitality and friendliness of all staff members. The JOIA Bavaro property is smaller than JOIA Paraiso and may be a bit larger than JOIA Rosehall, but with the similar "u" formation of the buildings with the pools in the middle. It was easy to get around and to familiarize ourselves with the layout. The beach was amazing - walking the length of the Iberostar properties took about 20 minutes each way which made for a great walk. We saw some vendors on the beach but did not buy anything from them and they were not pushy in any way. The hotel itself was very clean, the rooms were a good size but definitely smaller than both JOIA Paraiso and Rosehall (you didn't have the separate sitting area). The balcony had two chairs and a small table which was fine, although I do enjoy the couch/loveseat at the other JOIA's to stretch out and relax with a book. The restaurants were nicely decorated, and the food was amazing - some of the best food we have experienced. We did go to the a la carte's nightly and visited all restaurants, including the Dominican which is a separate building near the beach and next to the Star Prestige area. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all restaurants. Some staff that specifically made our vacation special included: Jariza (Garcia) at the front desk, Augusto/Martin/Malyerix at the Star Prestige Beach, Francisco/Junior/Ismera/Darlenys/Liliana at the Star Prestige lounge, Keila at the Dominican restaurant, Melissa from the management team, Valentin our butler and Poche, one of the sommelier's. My husband did golf and enjoyed the course. The pro shop was very nice and the course was in great condition. I visited the spa a few times which was within the JOIA complex and was happy with my treatments. When looking back and comparing the three JOIA properties that we have visited, this one is definitely our #2. We are already planning our return trip and look forward to seeing more of the full resort property, exploring all of the sister hotels. Overall, this was a great trip and we were so happy we decided to come to the DR. JOIA Bavaro is officially on the rotation for our future vacations!

We just returned from a fantastic 5 day vacation at Joia Bavaro and absolutely loved every minute of it. It was exactly what our family needed. The property is beautiful and very well manicured. The entire staff is amazing! Everyone we came in contact with was extremely friendly from the moment we arrived. Our butlers Junior and Valentin took great care of us all week. We could not ask for anyone better to handle everything we needed. The poolside bartenders Ery and Bruno were so much fun and attentive to everyone. The entire entertainment group was great! We had such a great time with them all week with the many daily activities and nighttime entertainment. There are too many to name them all but we spent a lot of time throughout the week with Snoop dog and black mamba and we did a lot of laughing and dancing! The Joia Bavaro is a perfect size where we never felt overcrowded and never had any problem getting a pool chair or getting in any of the restaurants. The golf course is beautiful too! We could not have asked for a better Christmas vacation! We highly recommend this resort if you are looking for an adult all inclusive

Everything as advertised, service was great, very friendly people. It was nice being able to walk to the sister resorts and explore and feel very safe We really only left the resort once to go on an ATV excursion . Daily bingo in the pool was a highlight. Only real negative is people reserving the cabanas early in the morning whether they are there or not. Other than a couple other resorts, there’s really nothing else out in this area , it is a ways to the city center and the airport

What an amazing resort. Our 3rd time here! Clean, beautiful, fantastic rooms and the staff by far were fun and welcoming. Our butler Eduardo made our trip extra accommodating to the activities we requested, and helping us watch the Bears vs Packers game in the Cigar bar was icing on the cake.

Last three years have been to Joia Jamaica Joia Mexico Joia Bavero (currently) Thoughts on Joia Bavero Great beach. AMAZING Staff. Food - Average - Not a buffet fan but buffet better than the a la cartes at this resort. Rooms slightly on the small side, but kept clean and comfortable. Resort is a bit dated but we can see lots of improvement being done. Drinks good, nice barware. Beach service exceptional, friendly and efficient. Butler service friendly but not needed in our opinion. Entertainment staff work very hard and are very, very sweet. *The worst part of this vacation is the relentless sales pitch from the concierges ( multiple) To the point that you have to go out of your way to avoid them. HUGE let down in our vacation experience. Not a knock on the staff, I know they are told to do this but offer once on check in and leave your guests alone to enjoy what they paid good money for, rest and relaxation. This was our 8th visit to the best all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. The hotel is wonderful, the beach is amazing, the food is great, but it's the staff that keeps us returning year after year! It begins with Luis and his front desk staff ensuring you have the best room for your stay. We absolutely love the fact that year after year we can count on seeing our favorite wait staff including Ramona and Samuel. They are the best in the resort and remember exactly what we like and are always happy to see us! Altagracia makes the best omelets and eggs for breakfast and remembers exactly what you order every day! Our butler Houston took care of any requests we had and always made sure we were happy and satisfied. Diana has been cleaning our room for years and is efficient, timely, and makes sure we have all the towels and everything we need in the room! If you are going to Punta Cana, you need to stay at JOIA Bavaro! Enjoy!

Nothing changes except for improvements. They are constantly painting , upgrading, landscaping, cleaning and all with a smile. We are members of the club and very proud to be. The staff has been working at this hotel for a very long time and both of us remember their names , are excited to see them again and they feel like family and treat us like family .

We stayed at Iberostar Joia Punta Cana for six days as a couple and had a really lovely, relaxing experience. The resort itself is quiet, chill, and refined, which we appreciated. It never felt crowded or loud—very much a place to unwind rather than party. The beach was beautiful with soft sand and clear water, and we never had trouble finding loungers. The pool area was equally calm and well maintained, perfect for low-key afternoons. Our room was polished and classy, with thoughtful finishes and a clean, modern feel. Housekeeping did a great job, and everything felt well cared for. The food was okay—not bad by any means, but not the standout of the trip. There were solid options, and presentation was nice, but it didn’t rise to the same level as the rest of the resort. Overall, Iberostar Joia is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a peaceful, upscale, couples-friendly escape with a great beach and a relaxed atmosphere. We left feeling rested and refreshed, which is exactly what we wanted.

We had a wonderful stay at JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar, and one of the absolute highlights was the entertainment team. They truly made our vacation memorable. A special thank you to Smiley, Black Mamba, and Javier (“Chocolate”) — their energy, charisma, and genuine warmth brought the resort to life every single day. Whether it was daytime activities by the pool or evening entertainment, they knew exactly how to engage guests without ever being pushy. Their sense of humor, professionalism, and passion for what they do really stood out. You could tell they genuinely enjoy making people smile, and they created such a fun, positive atmosphere throughout the resort. We looked forward to seeing them each day and always left activities laughing and in a great mood. The rest of the staff at JOIA Bávaro was excellent as well — friendly, attentive, and welcoming — but the entertainment team truly deserves special recognition. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!
