It was very clean and location was absolutely awesome! Highly recommend staying here!

The boat shed is tucked away perfectly back from the Strand, offering water and boat views without passing foot traffic. As a relatively late addition to this historical lodge, the room felt brand new. I initially booked the wrong date, but the property cheerfully refunded, and I rebooked straight away. The reception staff were still there waiting for us even though we were quite a bit later than our original ETA.

We picked a bad weather weekend, but in such a fantastic location, a quick dash along the Strand delivered many excellent dining options in the eve, and a bakery and coffee shop across the road in the morning.

Location is everything here, right on the waterfront with handy shops on the other side. Friendly and helpful hosts (sorry I was slow to notice you waving at me on Thursday night! ). Beautifully maintained property. An easy stroll to everything in town. Great dining a stone's throw away. Comfy couch (great for knitting!), good bed, lovely bathroom, nice little area out front that trapped the sun. Easy parking. No negatives at all from my point of view. The Duke is a must visit for an early evening drink or meal. Good cocktails at the Nauti Penguin nearby. A quick drive or walk over to the coffee cart at beautiful Long Beach. Short drive to Tāpeka Point.

Excellent location with beautiful views. We had three units for a family celebration and this worked out very well. The two upstairs units closest to the sea were great for getting everyone together and we appreciated being able to get between the units easily.
