Pousada Omnimare

Very nice hotel, like a boutique, close to beach and walking path, restaurant and other amenities.

First a warning about Ubatuba for foreigners - it is nicknamed Ubachuva in Portuguese, because 'chuva' means rain and it rains there - a lot! Not that this stops anyone from going to the beach - Brasilians are beach people and nothing will stop them. Second warning - Ubatuba is not easy to get to. You will have to go down some steep and winding roads, regardless of the direction you come from. That said, the Pousada Omnimare is a quaint location and excellent spot for divers. They have diving classes and a dive shop for all your needs. The owners speak English and are super friendly and helpful, so no worries about the language barrier. There are many good restaurants within walking distance and the town is very quaint, easy to get around and can be covered by bike in a short time. The north beach and that area of town are for younger partiers. The south beach (near this pousada) is more quiet and laid back. Unfortunately, the beach closes to the pousada was a bit polluted with debris from a ship fire offshore. Take the main road north and south a little bit and you will find plenty of alternative beaches in and maybe even sunshine!
