Kinsterna Hotel

Our stay at the Kinsterna Hotel near Monemvasia was very pleasant—a great place to relax while being conveniently close to Monemvasia by car. The beautifully restored mansion exudes charm and luxury, surrounded by picturesque gardens and stunning views. The staff provided exceptional service, and the buffet breakfast was amazing, carefully prepared and showcasing local dishes and produce, as well as standard hotel fare. I highly recommend this tranquil retreat for an unforgettable getaway.

I was not happy with Room 42, but that was, of course, my selection. Don’t get me wrong; like the rest of the property, it is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. However, it is at the bottom of the building and has no outward-facing windows, which made it feel like a cave to me. There is a small portico with a metal café table and chairs where you can sit outside, but the main access path is in front of it, so electric buggies ferrying people and staff regularly go past. There are plenty of other beautiful spots to sit, but we also like to have a view from our room. The pictures are not misleading, but they do not convey the full story for this room. Normally, I choose the right room; this time, I didn't. Note to self and others for the future! I need to get better at voicing my concerns during check-in and moving to a different room if possible. The property wasn't full, so perhaps this would have been achievable. Another functional issue with Room 42 is that between the bed area and the bathroom, there are two sets of steps—a potential hazard in the middle of the night if you need the bathroom.

If you are looking for utter relaxation do not look any further. Kinsterna is gorgeous with a very easy going and happy vibe. The food is excellent, your surroundings breath taking and the spa is ultimately relaxing thanks to Xenia, hostess of the spa.
