Muri Beachcomber

This property is like the old nursery rhyme “The Little Engine That Could”. It is the oldest resort on Muri beach but they keep in in good condition - all of the rooms we’re getting new furniture and a repaint while we were there for example. The location is magnificent, with the beach Ind the lagoon literally at your doorstep. Everything you could ever want is a short walk away - Avis on a second rental car office, a pharmacy, a store and several really good and reasonably priced restaurants - including Tiares - a magnificent place with incredible food at great prices. The Muri Night Market is literally right next door. The beach and the lagoon are second to none. The staff are wonderful especially Shelly, the manager.

I was expecting something slightly more upscale and this is not that. Don’t let that deter you. This is NOT a 5 star resort - it’s listed as a 3 star and that is appropriate. It’s a bit more rustic than I was expecting but that does not conotate anything bad - it’s quite comfortable and the place is well maintained and very clean. My wife LOVED it, and we would both definitely return. Rarotonga is simply magnificent and this resort is in a perfect location.

Tolle Anlage direkt am Strand. Zimmer/Küche sehr gut ausgestattet. Viele Möglichkeiten zur Selbstverpflegung (Supermarkt, Cafe, Bäckerei, Nachtmarkt…)in fußläufiger Entfernung. Gratis Benützung der Waschmaschine.

Auf das angebotene Frühstücks-Körbchen könnte man verzichten. Tee/Kaffee am Zimmer ist ok, aber sonst wäre nichts nötig (s.o.), verursacht mit den Portionspackungen nur unnötigen Müll. Leider aber auch viele Ameisen im Zimmer, und auch Kakerlaken.

Perfect location, staff were excellent- friendly and helpful. Was great to have use of kayaks, paddle boards and snorkels and also it was free to use the washing machine which was very handy. So close to many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. It was nice to have a full kitchen. Perfect location in Muri, clean, tidy and comfortable bed, just a little dated.

Only gripe would be that it would be nice to have your own iron and ironing board in your unit and not have to run over to the laundry room each time it was needed and to hope no one else was using it at that time. As much as we loved our unit and location next to the water, it was a bit outdated for the price you pay. We did notice some were renovated quite nice. In saying that I would love to stay here again depending on price at the time as it is in a great location and a lovely resort.

The location was perfect, next door to night markets, tapas restaurant across the road, we had a garden room 12, right outside was the pool, great for my grandchildren who were in the room next door, stroll out the back of resort to the lagoon, walk slong the beach to pacific resort bar, and sailing club, had beautiful photos taken in the garden, it was perfect for us. Would definitely go back.
