Citotel Avallon Vauban

I stayed in this hotel several times, and always enjoyed it. This time around the rooms seem to have been a bit upgraded. It's an old traditional building at the edge of town, but easy walking distance from the town center. Drive in through an ancient arch to a large secure parking/garden area with mature trees. My artist friend found this an excellent painting location. Wi-Fi is strong, with no password needed. Friendly staff, good breakfast. I will continue to use it on future trips.

If your looking for more of an independent hotel for a stopover this is a great one. Whilst being small and quite quirky this fulfilled all requirements and was in a great location. The town was lovely with some wonderful restaurants, and the Saturday morning market had loads of very tasty food. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all it was a pleasure to stay here.

I have used this hotel several times as a convenient stop when traveling towing a boat to the med. 5 km from junction 22 on A6. Large secure car park locked at night . Very good restaurant 3 doors away. Good breakfast. Pretty town.

This was a pleasant surprise and very satisfied, it was quiet, clean, and friendly host, breakfast was great and plentiful, worth the stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed a two night stopover here on the way back from the South. The Hotel d'Avalon isn't the modern, crisp chain hotel that you'd get from Accor, but what it lacks in air-con and fresh painted plaster it more than makes up for in atmosphere, friendly welcome, ideal location in a beautiful town and traditional charm. Good value breakfasts and lovely outlook over the back garden woodland. Will definitely return.

The hotel is well located (<5 minute walk into the old town centre) with friendly staff and has a nice park/wooded area. Easy and plentiful car parking. There are lots of interesting pictures and posters which help one to get an idea of the area, but without making the place like a tourist office. An older hotel, adding to it being attractive, but does mean that there were not many electric sockets and the bathroom was more 'traditional' (e.g. hand-held shower rather than wall-mounted).

This is a fairly basic hotel, but very close to the centre of town, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you are looking for luxury, go elsewhere, but if your needs are simpler then this place should be more than adequate.

Small town, on main road, easy to find, plenty of parking. v short wark to town centre. Room clean but super dated. Bathroom also requires modernisation. The bath was half size so you couldn't stretch out your legs unless you were of kiddies proportions! Shower consisted of an attachment to the taps, no attachment on the wall to hold the shower head and no shower curtain. Overall was clean.
