Didn't expect much so wasn't disappointed. Close to the battle sites, no restaurant in hotel. Could do with coffee and tea making facilities, and a small fridge.

"Excellent for a night"

10.0

We liked the stay. The kids liked the upper loft. We needed a place on our way to Paris. We wanted to see the battlefields. We would have stayed here longer if we had the time. There is a great restaurant nearby. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. The breakfast was fine, croissants are always great in France and bread etc., you can't find bad food in France. Shower was a little small and awkward , shower head would not stay. All and all, excellent, and I would go back

"Good Little Hotel, Great Price"

8.0

There are not many hotels in Verdun, this is your best choice. A small family hotel with basic rooms, clean showers and comfortable beds; all at a very good price. If your looking for room service or marble tubs, look elsewhere. Downtown Verdun is an easy 20 minute walk if you're in shape. Longer if not. The only nearby restaurant is just around the corner with good, reasonably price food.

Suitable for budget conscious families. We had 5 and it worked well for us. Handy to the world war one battlefields.

"GREAT place!"

10.0

This hotel is located in a small village about 8km from the Normandy beaches. The hotel itself is built inside a 12th century market so it has more than a bit of old world charm. The restaurant and hotel are staffed and operated by the owner/chef and his twin sons. The restaurant was completely full on a weekday evening but the service and meal were superb - the best we had during our 12-day tour. The room was larger - we had 4 people with plenty of room. Bathroom OK. Room was cool without AC thanks to the 2-foot thick stone walls. Will definitely stay here next time we are in the area. It is not 5-star comfort but we don't travel to spend time in our hotel room and the rest of the experience was outstanding!

"Good"

Staff was extremely helpful and polite. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in the process of some remodeling; however, it was not a problem for us. A car is needed to drive to the center of the city where the main attractions are located. Price of room was reasonable. Excellent restaurant behind the hotel. The Brasero is the name of the restaurant.

"Hotel du Tigre, Verdun, France"

6.0

It was what I expected. All I wanted was some place to crash for a couple of days while I toured the Meuse-Argonne/Verdun battlefields. Because I was touring with a car their spacious parking lot was a big plus. And because it was the middle of winter and I was the only guest, they gave me a big room for the price of the cheap one I reserved. Twenty minute walk to city center--if it wasn't deathly cold I would have--five minutes by car. Breakfast seemed pricey but hey, this is France, there are plenty of bakeries around. The folks were nice and friendly, my stay was OK.
