The Bickford Arms Inn

Bedroom was comfortable, putting aside concerns about noise. Good coffee.

The booking was literally a one-night stopover. Having requested a quiet room that received no reply, our room was facing out onto the corner of a T-Junction with the main road with, I believe I am right in saying, a 60 mph speed limit. If not, then the vehicles travelling along the road were 'speeding'. The resultant road noise was not conducive to settling down for a quiet nights sleep. The access to the rooms from the ground floor takes you past the pub's working areas which do not give a good first impression and likewise when getting breakfast, the view into the working areas of the pub leave something to be desired.

I distance on serving water in plastic bottle when I asked for tap and complementary shower products are individual plastic not refillable wall units.

We found The Bickford Arms pleasurable and comfortable. The room was bright and airy but still gave a feeling of warmth and cosines. The staff were so very accommodating and went out of their way to please us. It was a pleasure to talk to Keith about any subject.

Being of the older generation we had a problem bringing down our luggage but understandably they do not have a lift.

No decaf except instant. Egg and bacon a bit over cooked

Clean. Friendly staff. Good sized carpark. The cooked breakfast was well prepared.

Room rather small. Only 1 double socket. Breakfast options limited.
