Estepona Hotel & Spa Resort

Really enjoyed our stay here. Hotel is beautiful, staff friendly and helpful, food was great. Loved it. The only downside was that there was nothing in the way of shops, bars, restaurants close to the hotel, so you would need a car or just get a taxi into the town, which was only about 10 mins away. There was one small shop (gifts, beachwear etc.) in the hotel grounds and it looks as though they may be planning to open more things in the future.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for six nights (27/5 - 2/6) to attend my Niece's wedding and found everything was perfect, to the friendly greeting on arrival to all the facilities on offer. The staff were wonderful and very helpful in all aspects during our stay. The room we had was a side sea double very clean and spacious with great views over the grounds and onwards to the beach, which was a pleasant stroll of a couple of hundred meters. The swimming pools (one adult only and one large pool for adults and children), were kept in pristine condition throughout. We didn't use the restaurant as we normally eating out with friends and relations so can't comment but understand from other guests that it was good, however we did try the snack bar where you could get very large portions of excellent quality food. All in all we would thoroughly recommend this establishment, 4 stars +

Gorgeous place, large suite, nice view on mediterranean sea, good buffet

Great location. Nice and quiet and away from the party scene. Family friendly but not overrun with children. The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are nice and spacious. I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel Fuerte Estepona is an enigma. Why? Because the facilities are in many ways first rate but it's as if its a relatively new set up and is taking time to get into a groove. Nevertheless, we had an extremely relaxing break. That may have been helped by the fact it was not term time so the place was quiet. It is slightly out of the way - a good way from Estepona which was fine for our purposes. We got upgraded, which was nice. And the car park underneath the rooms is very convenient.

We arrived at 10:45 at night but they still laid on a meal for us. The all inclusive option left us with so many opportunities to enjoy 5* food Service was excellent! The only negative was we were a little remote for my mother who at 93 found the distance and the need to use at least 2 different lifts a nuisance.

Room was very nice with huge windows. However it was unbearably hot as the air conditioning did not work & when we complained they told us they would not turn the air conditioning on as they were an ecologically responsible hotel. The breakfast is the cheapest ingredients we have ever tasted. The fresh orange juice was barely flavoured water. There was one person cooking eggs for guests so there was a 20 minute queue each morning. Such a shame as the hotel is beautiful.

The hotel was very good as were the staff. Our stay was pleasing and the ammenities were good. One minor issue was the lack of English TV stations, only two and both news channels. Most of the guests were Europeans so this make sense for them. We would definitely go back there.

Although the room was really great, some of the lifts not working. and someof the glass on the patios was cracked, which we considered could be dangerous if it fell because, although it apparently was shatterproof, it was quite thick and heavy. Not enough TV channels in English (only a couple out of many. ) Beautiful swimming pools which hardly anyone could use because they were absolutely freezing. Very disappointing. Hotel very nice overall.

What a shame......the hotel was nice and most staff polite, however, if you are looking for flexibility, a coffee in your room (or anywhere actually in the hotel) and a manager that is prepared to listen to your feedback - don't come here! After arriving at midnight we were desperate for a coffee but there was none provided in our room ( only tea). We waited for breakfast and was told that if you do not pre book, the buffet breakfast is €15. We said that we only wanted a quick coffee and croissant as were in a rush and was sent to the restaurant to speak to them. Again they said we had no choice but to pay the full amount even if we just wanted a coffee. We said that that wasn't very flexible and was there anywhere in the hotel where we could get a coffee and only pay for what we have. The answer was no. We were told to sit down and the manager would come to see us. After a coffee and pastry, we were promptly presented with a bill for €30 for two of us. We went to see the manager and explained the situation that we were happy to pay for what we had but there was NO discussion, understanding or flexibility with him whatsoever. Infact, I have never been spoken to in such a demeaning, rude and dismissive manner. He was not prepared to make any compromise at all and refused to believe that providing coffee in the room is usually standard, as well as being able to provide an alternative to a full €15 buffet. He begrudgliny said we could pay €10 pp which is the pre booked rate.
