"Poor value, in a grim town"

At £300/€347 for a single night the 3* Hotel Vík í Mýrdal represents poor value. The rooms in the old part of the hotel are gloomy, very cramped and badly decorated. Breakfast was just adequate. The public areas were suffused with cheap air freshener, presumably to mask an even less pleasant smell. I would not go back.

"Great view, great staff"

You cannot beat this view! The room overlooked the Black Sand Beach and it was awesome! The staff sere great and the room was clean!

The breakfast was good but it would be nice to have a bigger spread to choose from.

"Great room and friendly staff. Not worth the price."

The location in Vik was great. The room layout for a family of four with teenagers was perfect. Comfortable beds and large bathrooms

Overpriced. $800 for a great room but no pool, sauna, hot tub or robes. View was not great.
