Jinjiang Inn Shenzhen Airport

This hotel is OK for a quick stop off that is quite close to the airport. The surrounding area isn't great but the rooms and clean and comfy. Very good value for money.

Very convenient to the airport. Clean, but definitely worn. Smelled a bit like stale smoke.

The hotel is not great and the neighbourhood, near the airport, isn't that nice. However, for a layover in Shenzhen it does what it's supposed to do, and does it rather well, actually.

I rode the ferry from Hong Kong airport to Shenzen airport; I thought that the ferry terminal would be adjacent to the airport. It isn't. I arrived after dark and the cabs were un-metered and unreliable. BEWARE ! Cabbie could not find hotel. The neighborhood is industrial. Room was tiny but for an overnight stop it worked. Did not sample the restaurant. Shenzen airport is a 5 minute cab ride away. Again, no metered cabs. Hotel was bare bones serviceable.

We stopped over in ShenZhen for 1 night to continue our trip to Mainland China. This hotel is perfectly located, right in front of the Airport. So we were able to walk to/from the hotel without additional transport expense & time. Although so near to the airport, our overnight sleep was not interrupted by too much noise, no sound of planes landing/taking off was heard. Behind the hotel we could also find a street of local restaurants. Not too fancy, but enough to offer us local cuisines. One thing we were concerned about: similar to other places in China, people tends to spit on the street. So while walking/exploring the place, we had to be mindful to avoid stepping on them - distracting & rather tiresome after a while. Most staff only speaks Chinese, but we were lucky Jay was on duty at that time and his English was rather fluent for a local. All staff including Jay were very friendly and professional. We left our luggage for 3 days and they did take care of it well. No hassle at all. We needed a Mini Van (there were 4 of us with lots of suitcases) to another place and there were friendly 3rd-party transport company staff on the lobby to help us. Since most transport/taxi drivers cannot read English hotel names, I got someone to translate my hotel name&addr into Chinese characters. With my broken Mandarin I was then able to haggle the transport fee to my destination. Having your address in Chinese certainly helps. I can recommend this hotel for its location & service.

This hotel met all my basic needs. It was easy to find, close to all kinds of transportation, and close enough to walk the night market. It was a little difficult communicating in english but they always seemed able to find someone that could help. Nice staff, clean rooms, and quite location. Everything I was looking for at a fair price.

Having travelled to China a few times, my overall comments on local run hotels is that they don't do a good job in maintenance. But this Jinjiang Inn is an exception - it's clean & comfortable, definitely value for money. Only minus point is that the room is a bit small. If you are on transit and want a place to sleep before catching a connection flight, then go for this hotel.

The hotel is very basic. It main benefit is its proximity to the airport (5 minutes with the hotel own minivan 15RMB) and its low price. The rooms are equipped in a very basic but functional way and are useful for late arrival to or early departures from Shenzhen airport. Would not stay here more than 1 night. Staff speaks limited English although I was able to make myself understandable. The hotel has no exchange facility and there is no exchange is in the neighborhood, (except in the airport, but that was too far walking) so come with sufficient cash or credit card. In effect there are no facilities in the neighborhood, unless you are willing to walk to the airport or take the shuttle AND you enough time for it.

Goods - 2 minutes in a cab to airport. They speak some English. Soft beds surprisingly. Small bathroom. Bad - restaurant has 4 tables, and its not really a restaurant, just a cafe - but open 24 hours. The door does not seal so well - it locks, but you can hear EVERYTHING in the hall. So idiots were staying there at all hours making a bunch of noise talking in the hall. And the chinese talk LOUD. SO i kept waking up to someone yelling in the hall at all hours. This was a good value for the price though. Other than the loud people, I would stay there again.
