Distance from restaurant - and needing to walk out onto road and along or along beach in the dark.

Fantastic place, charming lovely, kind warm hearted staff and absolute joy. Free bananas. Water stations. Free bikes. Great scooter hire a manager who spoke to the guests at breakfast, cared and gave great recommendations. Great breakfast, buffet. Greeted at the airport with a lei by the lovely Aunty Nana.

Bicycles needed a little servicing, but that just added to their charm. No ‘last orders’ in the restaurant, or else might have had another round of you fantastic drinks!

An absolutely lovely spot on a spectacular island.

We stayed in Villa 100 , on beachfront which we were so impressed with. It was huge !. Had its own private entrance onto beach right by lagoon , a front open lounge / dining area with roof , that looked out on stunning views of lagoon and beach : no other thatched cottages/ villas either side , so very private. Next to pool . Kitchenette area was well stocked with coffee machine , fridge , freezer , electric plug in hob , basic kitchen equipment. Bedroom was huge , with great air con and also ceiling fans , with very large double shower ensuite and separate toilet. The ambience of the resort is very friendly , all staff in restaurant were lovely . Food is exceptional at night and at breakfast. Options to walk down beach from here to other resort bars if needed. Their Cultural Island Feast with dancing performance & music was incredible . A huge buffet to help yourself from and live music , Polynesian local dancing. We loved staying at Tamaru . The Manager checked on everyone staying which was great customer service. Highly recommend this place .

The pool next to Villa 100 because it was close to the pool and beach. The outdoor area was amazing and the bathroom was perfect!

From the moment we arrived it was a great experience . The perfect end to our Travels Downunder. All staff were really Friendly . Our Beach room was really Beach ! Great relaxing with a Cocktail. Steak night was Fantastic and the Specially made Pepper Sauce a dream ! Thanks again Bob &Anke Hargreaves

Everything about Tamanu Beach Resort is absolutely perfect! The location is great for snorkelling, swimming, relaxing and sight seeing. We stayed in a bungalow right on the beach and woke to stunning views and sunsets every day. The facilities and pool are excellent and very well maintained. Our bungalow was luxurious in a beautiful Polynesian style. The restaurant served delicious food with authentic local cuisine and many additional options to suit all palates. The resort hosts a week night happy hour and a twice weekly 'Island Night' which includes a delicious buffet meal and stunning performance of an Aitutaki legend, including traditional Polynesian dancing, drums and songs, definitely worth booking in for that. Tamanu Beach provides pushbikes, snorkelling gear, kayaks and SUPs for guests to use and also offers a scooter hiring service. I cannot praise the resort staff enough! We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and decided to have a 'Renewal of Vows' ceremony on the beach outside our bungalow at Tamanu Beach Resort. Mimi made planning the event very easy in the weeks leading up to our event. Both Erin, Mimi and their team made sure our ceremony went perfectly, including the most beautiful arbour under the coconut palms on the beach, stunningly handcrafted ei katu and neck lei, our celebrant and of course a wonderful Polynesian string band. We were privileged to meet Helen Henry and her husband Johno, what an amazing couple! Helen along with her family, created the magical Tamanu Beach Resort and Helen has written a beautiful book about her island life titled 'My Kotuku of the South Seas'. It is wonderful to read about her life in Rarotonga and the dreams her family had that built Tamanu Beach Resort. We loved everything about Tamanu Beach Resort and will definitely be back.
