Palais Des Remparts

L'établissement est davantage un riad qu'un hôtel, typique de l'architecte musulmane. Un lieu magnifique, très calme et accueillant. Personnel souriant, agréable et serviable.

L'établissement ne mérite pas ses 5 étoiles. Même si nous avons été surclassés dans une suite spacieuse et confortable, la chambre n'a pas les caractéristiques nécessaires d'un 5 étoiles ( coffre-fort, chaussons, bouilloire, café etc...) et a besoin d'être rafraîchie. Petit déjeuner buffet assez sommaire mais bon.

The location and the venue itself is great

The day staff were terrible. The restaurant was closed and everyone brought stuff from outside. We had some beers as it was my birthday but were tucked away in a bag. The waiter, Simo, approached and wanted to take an order for coffee. We were 3 people and my friend's wife wanted a coffee. We didn't want anything so we passed. He looked in our bag and said: "you have beer, you can't have that here, we don't have a license to serve beer here" I told him that they're not serving it, I bought it from outside so there is no license issue. He insisted that we must buy coffee and he'll let us have our beer, but from the can and not hotel glasses. I have told him that I will do no such thing and won't be blackmailed into buying something that I don't want whilst other people have stuff from outside without ordering anything. I went and complained to reception and was greeted with the same response: licence. What has license got to do with what I bought outside their establishment and was consuming it in an outside public area where everyone else was consuming their own food and drink. I do understand that being a Muslim culture some people don't feel comfortable serving alcohol or having people around that consume it, but at no stage and by any member of staff I was told that, and spoke to 2 other receptionists, Noura and Sana. The waiter was rude and refused to talk and serve the coffee that we ordered. In a vengeful attempt that I had alcohol he treated us in the most disrespectful way possible. Shitty people like that should not be allowed to work in a customer facing industry especially in a multicultural environment where tourists from all over the world step into your establishment.

The beauty of the place and its location. The friendly and professional service. And most importantly we (2 couples) we're upgraded to a lovely large suite. Big thanks to management & staff.
