Westbury Gingerbread Cottages

This accommodation was interesting for its history and heritage. We enjoyed the breakfast provisions. We enjoyed walking around the town in the green and common, but were surprised that no shops were open when we arrived at 3pm. We expected a range of antique shops at least but the town was essentially dead.

The rugs and carpets and the whole place generally was quite musty smelling and dusty. The TV didn't work. The air con in the main bedroom downstairs didn't work so it was quite hot and stuffy when trying to sleep.

We thought the cottage was amazing! The attention to detail and cleanliness passed our expectations, and everything was authentic! The facilities were far better than we expected, we just wished we could stay longer. We were amazed by the garden, and the town itself. Next time we need to stay anywhere in the vicinity, this will be our first choice. And we will be telling all our acquaintances!

The breakfast and general vibe of the cottage.

No air conditioning

Breakfast was great! Freshly baked bread, bacon & eggs and heaps of cereals to choose from. Lots of local information pamphlets so was able to go for a lovely walk around the streets looking at locations.

Front door didn’t unlock and back door lock was a bit dodgy. Place smelled a bit musty. Bedrooms done up lovely.

Gives old cottage living experience with vintage furniture, good gardens and breakfast. Good garden with a couple of apple trees. Good sketches and photo frames.

The cottages are extremely dusty and require good maintenance in terms of cleaning. The wooden flooring and carpets have stains which completely ruins the experience of an old cottage. Spider webs almost all corners and windows. Dust on every corner and couches as well. The place requires deep cleaning and maintenance. Hospitality could also be better as there were delays in support when required nor instructions provided on arrival. Given the conditions of the cottage as well as the location not being near any major tourist destination, the price is too high as well.

So cute and historical

We couldn't get the heater to work (gas heater) tried to ring the owner several times and no answer. Outside lights didn't work either. Apart from that, comfy and clean.
