De matras is wel aan vervanging toe, veel te hard.

The entire experience at Agriturismo Villa Guarnaschelli was excellent. The owners were exceptionally warm and professional. The room and beds were clean and well organized. The breakfast was very good and the entire layout of the building and grounds made for a wonderful environment. Being only a few kilometers from Florence and the airport, it was the optimal location to stay, especially the first night after arriving in Italy.

I loved the old world Catholic vibe, the restful atmosphere, the little museum in the building with a 17th century stone mill for grinding oil out of olives, the breakfast buffet with outstanding focaccia made onsite, excellent wine and honey made by the couple who own the business, the freezing cold pool, the gorgeous country surroundings, two adorable miniature ponies and the enthusiasm of Lucia, proud mother of the son/owner. She kindly made me a snack of salami and bread before leaving at 8 p.m. and offering to drop me back at the bus station the next morning. I'm very picky about beds and at first glance didn't think it would be up to my standard but I slept well and overall was satisfied with everything.

It's not a place that has passing trade so it's not reasonable to expect services like food and wine to be available on demand. They're not. But if you arrive before staff leave you can buy a bottle of excellent wine at the front desk to take to your room. Always carry a corkscrew. You can also request a snack, as I did. Or perhaps bring something of your own along to eat. The only thing I found objectionable was a 5EU charge for a swimming towel that I used for exactly half an hour. Other than that, no complaints.
