The Major Mitchell Motel

Simple, basic, clean. No frills room with 1 x Queen bed, 1 x Single bed. Tea/Coffee/Chocolate sachets, Toaster, Kettle & Microwave. Comfortable bed. but with close proximity to main road our sleep was disturbed due to the noise of trucks passing, plus a neighbouring residential property playing music all night. Located on main drag thru Bourke, walk to Bowls Club, the local place to be on a Saturday night.

Request a room away from the road.

Strong stale water smell in the toilet, bed was very firm.

Clean, huge and comfortable rooms. Basic kitchen equipment, microwave, toaster and kettle. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Easy walk into town. Bowling club in the next block. Parking outside the room. Warm welcome on arrival.

The bathroom was a little cramped and dated. Not a great water flow in the shower. No laundry onsite for guests… though we didn’t need one, other travellers may.

Bed was comfy

We requested a quiet room months ago and were told, “ we are fully booked!” There was no hairdryer, an iron but no ironing board, one small and one large mug for tea/coffee. It was very noisy on a cross street
