Heartland Hotel Fox Glacier

Very dated, flaking paint on windows outside, shower not good for taller people , shocking breakfast. Room was serviced but that didn't include washing/replacing the mugs from the previous day

The oldest hotel in Fox Glazier as been completely renovated, so it has the charm and ornaments of the old hotel yet the rooms are modern. I guess you pay a premium for both the glazier area as the centrally located hotel (with pub/restaurant indoors, other restaurants, convenience shop and petrol station around the corner), some walking options walkable, hiking options very nearby. If only part of the spacious bathroom could have been part of the rather small room, and mind you that the very friendly and service oriented manager allowed us to change the even smaller room we were offered at first. For a 194cm tall person the bed is so short the feet stick out. The friendly staff in the hotel and breakfast makes up for a lot (friendliest we met in the whole of NZ so far) and the overall experience for the highest price we pay compacted to any other hotel, motel or apartment does not.

Accommodation isn’t worth the price, the bed is too short (and it’s a queen size bed) for over 190cm folks and the rooms are too small.

Geräumige Zimmer mit guter Ausstattung. Sehr freundlicher Empfang und ausgesprochen hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer ist einfach, hat aber alles was man für eine Übernachtung in Fox Glacier braucht. Kostenlose Parkplätze direkt an der Unterkunft.

Sehr hellhörig und nicht mehr ganz zeitgemäß. Das Doppelbett so weich, dass man jede Bewegung des Partners mitkriegt. Das Restaurant schließt bereits um 20:00 Uhr.
