The gardens and clean pool

Unsupervised children under 5 using up the only working and lockable showers and those that actually had doors on them as play time for over half hour. If you don’t mind standing watch for others and looking at pubes on the walls, then you will need to bang on the door and tell a strangers kids to get out. Not all rooms are the same, I had the pleasure of sleeping on a skinny foam mattress and feeling the bars underneath. Screaming kids up and down the hallways and light entertainment from the domestic disputes of other occupants was an experience I’ll remember. Secure parking is a plus if the gate actually worked. Can’t complain about the roaches as the place was launched and drenched while we were there. However the fresh air from balcony and mould slime water splashing on you from the aircons above for the escape of cigarette smell that’s through the air con from the occupants before. Such a treat and a reminder not to stay at place where under 5 yrs stay for free.

The location is good, between the airport and centre of Cairns. It is walkable to the city centre. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff were really friendly. The pool area is nice. It's great there are clothes washers and dryers on site (card only payment). The room was comfortable with good air con and fan, fridge, crockery/cutlery etc.

There was no WiFi signal in my room at all. I was told by reception that management are aware of the problem, and that the signal is really only useful around the pool area/reception. In 2026, not having WiFi in the rooms is pretty poor. I stayed here in 2015, and physically, not much seems to have changed. So the place is quite old and due for some TLC, but overall is comfortable.
