Hotel Mingood

Hotel was in a good location. Easy walk to all the central sights. Laundry and 24hr Shop nearby. Room was spacious and comfy. There was building work going on at the hotel next door but I didn't hear a thing, nights were very quiet. I appreciated the room's large bathroom and nice balcony, even if there wasn't much to see from it. The price I paid was very economical and I thought I good very good value for money overall.

I visited Penang in March 2016, stayed in this hotel with friends. Breakfast was average. Location is good, middle in the George town. We visited Penang hill and 3D museum from there, not very far. This hotel is average quality hotel, value for money.

This is an older hotel but reasonably well maintained. The staff are very nice. Especially the lady in the breakfast room who is always offers advice and suggestions to the hotel guests. The is the main reason I usually stay at this hotel when I visit Penang. The breakfast is simple but the white coffee is fantastic. The breakfast is served on the rooftop breakfast room with a nice view. The room is large and comfortable. The location is very good and is on a quiet street.

Check-in was pretty fast. The hotel was a bit old but its ok Counter staff was friendly but they do not seem to know about the CAT free bus. Some have never heard of it, but the senior staff told me to walk to the nearest stop #11. But I have checked on the Net and it says stop #8, but the staff said the bus there does not go the full loop, which we later found out to be untrue!

Hotel staffs are very helpful and friendly,breakfast is ok but not much variety and finishing fast.

Nice service, good location

Actually pictures talks thousands of words. From the internet reviews the hotel looked old n run down. The hotel is simple but the staff are really friendly n nice chit chit chatting with us that we felt the warmth that no big hotels can give us. Located quite strategic in the city area. If you need to move around there is a free CAT bus going to tourist sites in the city. Bus services are many n cheap. The harmonious multi racial local people are super friendly - from people in the streets or bus drivers so never worry of getting lost n most understand English. The most friendly city i ever encounter.

Good value. Location on side street, so fairly quiet. Friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced food cooked to order is available in addition to the Continental Breakfast provided.

I stayed in this hotel for a night. The room is big and the floor is carpeted. I was greeted by very congenial and helpful staff. The bed was quite comfortable. The TV was quite small with a limited number of channels in English. There was a safe but there were burn marks on the carpet and it had no dryer. The free toiletries were soap and shampoo in sachets. There was no bidet and the tub was old so bathing was not even an option. The other room amenities were dated. I did not have any good view from my window. I just saw another building being constructed and workers were ready to wave when I opened my curtain. You can really tell that the hotel has gone through a lot in the past years. Breakfast served was limited to bread, jam, peanut butter, butter, coffee and sliced fruit. If you want to have eggs then it will cost you 5RM.
