Iberostar Selection Lagos Algarve

What a fabulous holiday. The hotel was ideally suited for us; out of the hubbub of Lagos town it was a tranquil and peaceful haven. Saying that access to Lagos was easy whether it be by the extensive boardwalks across the dunes if you wanted to walk and exercise, or the ‘hop on hop off’ train which stops outside of the hotel which was a fun and convenient alternative. The rooms are of a very high standard and immaculate. The servicing of the room was without fault and receiving a message on the app to let you know when the room had been serviced was very helpful. We thought the water stations on the corridors were a really good eco friendly idea encouraging guests to reuse water bottles. There is an activities programme which you can get involved in ranging from yoga, aqua fit, wine tasting, food and arts and crafts. Unlike many hotels we have stayed at these were not intrusive for other guests as they were held at times and in areas which didn’t have much impact on others. This led to a very relaxed atmosphere where noise levels were kept to a minimum. Even the background music at the main pool had a chilled vibe. Food is a very important aspect of our holidays and is perhaps one of the main factors of which hotel we choose. Here there was something for everyone with a great choice of breads, charcuterie, cheeses, FRESH salads, fruit, vegetables and cooked dishes. Desserts and cakes are to die for!! At breakfast eggs are cooked to your liking and at lunchtime and dinner there are 2 choices of fish and meats which are freshly cooked to your taste with various sauces you can choose from. I really enjoyed the lemon butter sauce with the fish. ALL the staff whether it be cleaning ( they never stop! ), restaurants, entertainment or bar are second to none: welcoming, friendly and keen to please. The young management team are enthusiastic, dynamic and regularly ask for feedback as they make every effort to improve in order to make your holiday or visit memorable for all the right reasons. Having recently stayed at much more expensive 5* resorts we think Iberostar Lagos is great value for money but then again that’s subjective. We had an excellent one week stay. The hotel and our room was very comfortable, the buffet food was fine with some excellent Portuguese wine on offer. We had super sea views. I walked on the raised boardwalk over the dunes daily, next to the sea. What made the stay "excellent" were the staff, helpful from start to finish generating a real sense of welcome. This extends from front desk to concierge services to room staff and absolutely to the Maitre D and dinning room team.

Beautiful hotel. I am very picky when it comes to quality and comfort and this hotel did not dissapoint. The staff were excellent, the food was fantastic and the room was super clean, and plenty of space. The priority sea view room was stunning. And the beach was very clean and only a 7 minute walk. I recommend going all inclusive if you can so you can fully immerse yourself with the experience.

For a relaxing 5 nights in the Algarve, Iberostar was perfect. My partner and I opted for bed and breakfast which meant we enjoyed the fantastic breakfast buffet at the hotel as well as being able to venture over the boardwalk (approx 40 mins) into the Lagos old town for evening meals. The rooms were beautifully clean, the pool was lovely and never too busy or loud, and the staff could not have been more kind and attentive. Sergio and Uda in particular were extremely friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in the Algarve, this is the perfect spot!

Gym sehr klein und kaum Geräte. Für die Größe des Hotels hatten wir deutlich mehr erwartet.
