Quality Inn University near Downtown

All me and my son needed was a room to stay in over night. It was perfect for what we needed. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was small, but it was fine for just a personal stop and go evening. If I have to go back, I will go there again.

It wasn’t that I didn’t like it. I just noticed it could use a little bit of maintenance, but nothing to keep me away.

did not have breakfast, except for a cup of coffee. Breakfast was available, but we did not want anything..

The room overall was fine. TV a tad small, not a smart tv, so limited in viewing choices.. The A/C was pretty loud, and never really seemed to cool the room.

Please DO NOT reserve a room here. Period. BED BUGS AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My best friend and I came to San Marcos to vacation for the weekend. We checked in early at 1:45pm and left at 7pm. We had not been in the room for even 2 hrs due to starting our vacation plans, so we were in and out. We get back fully for the night to settle down and a BED BUG crawled over my friend's leg. After checking the bed, I found DROPPINGS FROM THE BED BUGS in the mattress creases and a BED BUG ON THE COMFORTER. We immediately packed up our stuff and went to the office to make a complaint and request a full refund. When we told the receptionist she seemed to take a few deep breaths like she had dealt with this before and apologized and followed with "We have never had complaints from that room." THAT ROOM. She said she could switch us to a different room and we declined. If one room has them, they all do. She explained that she could not give us a full refund because we had checked in. But we could get a refund for our $50 deposit I paid when we check in that would fall off my account and receive a refund for our second night we were planning to stay. We didn't want to push the situation further with the receptionist because she genuinely seemed to be trying and stated that even the manager would not give us a full refund because we did ask to speak to the manager. We left and after going to 2 hotels that were full we found a room at the third. The next morning I called to speak to the manager about obtaining a full refund in which he VERY RUDELY told me that because the room was used he would not be giving us a full refund but would still give us the refund for the second night we had planned to stay and we would get back our $50 deposit. But not before he made an EXTREMELY inappropriate insinuation when it came to the bed being used by making a comment insinuating that me and my friend, who is female, had sex in the bed.
